A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Mounjaro strengths are measured in mg, not ml. “15ml” almost always means the 15mg KwikPen, the top dose.
  • The 15mg pen is £329.99 standard, or £82.50 per week. A new customer’s first 15mg order is £289.99, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.
  • One pen holds four weekly doses.
  • There is no tablet form of Mounjaro, and a “street price” is a warning sign: fake pens have contained insulin.
  • A first year costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg, at standard prices.
In this guide

01 · What it costs

What does the 15mg Mounjaro pen cost?

The 15mg pen costs £329.99 per month, meaning one four-week pen, with the doses currently in stock. You can see every strength and add it to your order on the Mounjaro pen product page. Weekly, that is £82.50. The 15mg pen is the top of the six-strength range (2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg).1

Discounts work in two steps. A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. That includes people who arrive already on 15mg from another provider, whose first order is £289.99. After that, an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). The ongoing monthly cost at 15mg is therefore £329.99 minus £25. Our Mounjaro discount code guide shows the live values.

For context, across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 10 October 2026), Mounjaro pens at all doses range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month. The gap between providers for the same dose runs from £27 to £41. Boots lists Mounjaro doses from £179.00 to £339.00. Compare like for like by dose and by what is included. If the price you are quoted looks far below all of these, check that the seller is a registered pharmacy before paying.

02 · What you get

What the price includes

The price covers the medicine and the service around it. The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Every order includes needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance. Delivery is free, next-day, tracked (DPD) and in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Supply is official LillyDirect supply: genuine KwikPens straight from Eli Lilly’s UK distribution, with all six strengths stocked.

Aftercare is included too: ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team, plus side-effect support Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Repeat orders re-check suitability and nothing auto-ships. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, or use Klarna or pay-monthly options, and there is no subscription.

03 · How ordering works

How to order in three steps

Ordering is a short process, and you can start your free consultation at any time.

  • Free online consultation. Complete a short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation.
  • Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
  • Dispensing and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen and sends it by free next-day tracked delivery.

Mounjaro is prescription-only, so there is no route that skips the consultation. A prescriber decides whether it is suitable, and which dose is right for you.

04 · 15ml or 15mg?

15ml or 15mg: what the number means

Mounjaro strengths are written in milligrams, so “15ml” is a mix-up for the 15mg pen. Tirzepatide comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen, the KwikPen, in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 Each pen is a different strength, not a different volume you choose.

This matters when you compare prices. A seller who talks about millilitres rather than milligrams may not be describing a genuine UK KwikPen. Check that the strength on the pen label and your prescription match. If anything is unclear, contact the pharmacy before you inject.

Each KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses, so one pen lasts four weeks.1 That is why dose-by-dose comparison is the only fair way to read any price list.

Once a pen is in use it can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away.13 Unopened pens stay in the fridge until first use and keep until the printed expiry date. For anything beyond that, check the patient information leaflet and ask the pharmacy.

You do not start at 15mg. Treatment begins at the lowest strength and steps up under prescriber review, so the first order is normally the 2.5mg starter pen. People who have already titrated elsewhere can continue at their current dose with us, and the new-customer discount applies at any dose. For the full price picture, see our page on the 15mg pen.

05 · Do you need 15mg?

Do you need 15mg? Dose, results and strength

Higher is not automatically better: many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. A prescriber reviews your progress and decides whether to step up. The 15mg pen is the highest licensed strength, not a target everyone should reach.11

The trial data show how dose and results relate. In SURMOUNT-1, which included 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20%.2

These are trial averages, and individual results vary. As a worked example, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. The treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

So is 12.5mg “strong”? It is the second-highest strength, below 15mg. Whether any dose is strong enough depends on your response, so ask your prescriber rather than judging by the number. Your prescriber will weigh your results against side effects before moving up.

Can you take 15mg? Only if a prescriber has assessed you as suitable and you have stepped up through the lower strengths. Licensed use is for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition, alongside diet and activity.1 Never move up a dose on your own.

06 · A year at 15mg

What a year of Mounjaro costs, up to 15mg

A first year costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg, at standard prices. These totals cover 52 weeks, or 13 pens. A new customer’s first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less than the standard price.

The first part of treatment is the step-up. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices.

Where you settleWhat to budget
First year settling at 5mg (13 pens)£2,711.88
7.5mg maintenance£279.99 per month
10mg maintenance£290.99 per month
12.5mg maintenance£319.99 per month
First year settling at 15mg (13 pens)£3,599.88

Read the table honestly. The year figures are standard prices before any discount, so your real spend is lower once your first-order discount and the reorder discount apply. For intermediate doses we give the monthly price only, because a year figure depends on when you step up and how long you stay at each strength.

Treatment cost also depends on how long you stay on it. Mounjaro is a medicine you take alongside lifestyle changes, and your prescriber reviews progress monthly. Budget for the period you and your prescriber plan, not just the first order. Payment can be spread with Klarna or pay-monthly options, and there is no subscription, so you can pause between orders. Each repeat order re-checks suitability before dispatch.

To see how recent list-price changes fed into these numbers, see our pages on whether Mounjaro is doubling in price and the Mounjaro price spike.

07 · Why prices rose

Why has the Mounjaro price increased?

The price rose because Eli Lilly raised the UK list price of Mounjaro.

Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, so no two providers charge exactly the list price. Our prices are shown live and dated, so you can see what applies today. Across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 10 October 2026), the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pens at any dose run from £143.96 to £339.00, and the smallest and largest gap between providers for the same dose is £27 to £41. We show these figures and let you compare them.

Because the spread between providers can be wide, it pays to compare strength by strength. A provider can look inexpensive at the starting dose and expensive at 15mg, or the other way round. Use the same dose and the same inclusions (consultation, needles, delivery, reviews) when you compare. The index starting-pen range, £143.96 to £179.99, covers the 2.5mg starter only, so never read it as a 15mg price.

You may have seen talk of a “price war” between sellers. Pricing can move, and what matters is the dated figure at the time you order. Our write-ups on the Mounjaro price war and trade pricing explain what drives list and sell prices.

The AI summaries and aggregator pages that quote a single range for the 15mg pen can be out of date within weeks. Treat a range as a guide, check the date beside it, and confirm the figure on the pharmacy’s own page. If a price is undated, assume it may be stale.

08 · Street prices and fakes

Street price, fake pens and the insulin risk

A “street price” for Mounjaro is a red flag, not a bargain. Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly’s official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked. Pens sold outside that chain have no such assurance.

The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified.7 Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7 Mounjaro is not insulin, and a pen that contains insulin is not Mounjaro. If you are asking what insulin costs for a diabetic, that is a separate prescription question for your GP or pharmacist.

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register. Our registration number is 9012878.12 Never buy from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation, so anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not a legitimate source.

Checking a pen is simple. A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been in use for more than 30 days. If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, contact the pharmacy before injecting. Report any suspected fake or side effect through the Yellow Card scheme.7

Use the pen as designed, then dispose of it.

09 · Oral Mounjaro cost

Oral Mounjaro and oral tirzepatide: is there a tablet?

There is no oral Mounjaro, and no oral tirzepatide on the UK market, so there is no tablet price to quote. Tirzepatide is injection-only in the UK. Anyone selling “oral tirzepatide” tablets, drops or sprays is not selling a licensed medicine.

What now exists are two different GLP-1 tablets, licensed for weight management. Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide, made by Novo Nordisk) were approved by the MHRA in June 2026, and Foundayo (orforglipron, made by Eli Lilly) was approved in August 2026. They are different medicines from Mounjaro, with their own dosing, eligibility checks and trial results, and both are prescription-only. See current Wegovy tablet prices on our weight loss treatments page.

The practical differences are real. Wegovy tablets are taken once a day on an empty stomach after fasting for at least 8 hours, swallowed whole with a sip of water (up to half a glass, about 120ml), then you wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other tablets.20 Foundayo can be taken at any time of day, with or without food and without water restrictions.21 Mounjaro needs one injection a week.

On results, OASIS 4 found adults taking semaglutide 25mg tablets for 64 weeks lost on average 13.6% of their body weight, compared with 2.2% on placebo.22 In ATTAIN-1, people taking the highest dose of orforglipron for 72 weeks lost on average 12.4%, compared with 0.9% on placebo.23 No trial has compared Mounjaro directly with either tablet, so these figures should not be set against SURMOUNT-1 as if head to head. SURMOUNT-5 is the trial that compared tirzepatide directly with injected semaglutide.15

Foundayo may make oral contraceptive pills less effective: switch to a non-oral method or add a barrier method for 30 days after starting and for 30 days after each dose increase.21 A prescriber will check which option suits your health, other medicines and routine. Other “cheaper alternatives” are different again: orlistat blocks some dietary fat absorption and produces smaller average losses, and “natural GLP-1” supplements such as berberine are not medicines, are not regulated for this use and have no comparable trial evidence. They are available cheaply without assessment, which is not the same as being effective.

10 · Saving money safely

Keeping the cost down safely

The safest way to keep costs down is to compare dated prices from verified pharmacies. Start with the discounts: a new customer saves £40 on their first order with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). Our current discount details are always shown live.

Then check what is included. A low headline price that excludes needles, a sharps bin, delivery or follow-up reviews is not the same offer as one that includes them. Ours includes needles, sharps bin and injection guidance, free tracked next-day delivery, and ongoing monthly clinical reviews, and our free GLPTrackr companion app helps you track your journey. The consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid.

Do not try to save by stretching or spacing out doses. Talk to your clinical team rather than self-adjusting.

If you are already on 15mg elsewhere, switching to us does not mean starting again. The new-customer discount applies at any dose, so your first 15mg order is £289.99, and your prescriber will review your suitability first. If you are not yet on 15mg, your prescriber decides which strength suits you.

Finally, remember that medicine prices are only part of the picture for some people. If you have type 2 diabetes, Mounjaro is licensed for type 2 diabetes as well as weight management, and the NHS covers some diabetes prescriptions. Ask your GP what applies to you. In England, the standard NHS prescription charge is £9.90 per item unless you are exempt.

11 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1

12 · NHS and stopping

NHS access, stopping at 15mg and long-term cost

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. Ask your GP whether you qualify.

If you do pay privately, plan the endgame as well as the start. Can you stop at 15mg? You can, but speak to your prescriber first. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1

Will you regain weight after stopping? In SURMOUNT-4, people who stopped tirzepatide after 36 weeks regained on average 14% of body weight over the following year, while those who continued treatment lost a further 5.5% on average. Stopping should always be planned with your prescriber, with diet and activity habits ready to carry the load.

Treat the cost conversation the same way. The 15mg price is a monthly figure for a medicine you and your prescriber review monthly, not a commitment to stay on that dose forever. Every repeat order re-checks suitability, so there is a natural point each month to ask whether you still need your current strength.

Medicines can also affect each other. Tell your prescriber about everything you take, including insulin or other diabetes medicines, because doses may need adjusting. Report any side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.19

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What is the cheapest price for Mounjaro 15mg in the UK?
The 15mg pen is £329.99 standard at EverydayMeds. Across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 10 October 2026), Mounjaro pens at all doses range from £143.96 to £339.00. Compare the same dose and the same inclusions, such as needles, delivery and reviews, and check the date beside any price you see, because prices change.
How long does a 15mg Mounjaro pen last?
A 15mg Mounjaro pen lasts four weeks, because each KwikPen is designed and licensed to deliver exactly four weekly doses. Once a pen is in use it can stay out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. Unopened pens stay in the fridge until first use and keep until the printed expiry date. Use the pen as designed, then dispose of it.
How much does 5ml of Mounjaro cost?
Mounjaro strengths are written in mg, not ml, so there is no 5ml price. The nearest match is the 5mg pen, a strength that costs £218.99 standard for four weeks (£54.75 per week). Strengths are written in mg, and the 15mg pen is £329.99. A new customer’s first order is £40 off at any dose with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.
Can you take 15mg of Mounjaro?
Yes, 15mg is the highest licensed Mounjaro strength, but only if a prescriber has assessed you as suitable and you have stepped up through the lower strengths. Licensed use is for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more activity. Never move up a dose on your own. Many people settle on a lower dose that works for them.
Is 12.5 Mounjaro strong?
12.5mg is the second-highest Mounjaro strength, below the 15mg pen, so it is a high dose within the range. Whether it is strong enough for you depends on your response and tolerance, which your prescriber reviews each month. At standard prices the 12.5mg pen is £319.99 per month, compared with £329.99 for 15mg.
Can I stop taking Mounjaro at 15mg, or go cold turkey?
You can stop, but speak to your prescriber first so they can plan it with you. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. In SURMOUNT-4, people who stopped after 36 weeks regained on average 14% of body weight over the following year.
What is the difference between Mounjaro 7.5mg and 10mg doses?
Both are weekly doses on the same ladder, which steps up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals depending on how you respond and tolerate it. In SURMOUNT-1 the average loss was 19.5% on 10mg over 72 weeks, a trial average where individual results vary. At standard prices 7.5mg is £279.99 and 10mg is £290.99 per month.
Is there an oral Mounjaro, and what does oral tirzepatide cost?
There is no oral Mounjaro or oral tirzepatide in the UK, because tirzepatide is injection-only, so there is no tablet price. Two other GLP-1 weight-loss tablets are licensed: Wegovy tablets and Foundayo (orforglipron). They are different medicines with their own dosing and trial results, and neither has been compared head to head with Mounjaro. See current Wegovy tablet prices on our weight loss treatments page, and be cautious of anyone selling “oral tirzepatide”.
What is the Mounjaro street price, and is it safe to buy that way?
There is no safe street price. Pens sold outside licensed pharmacies cannot be checked, and the MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens, with some fakes containing insulin rather than tirzepatide and causing hospitalisations. Buy only from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, where our number is 9012878. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber.
How much does Mounjaro cost for a diabetic, and what about insulin?
Mounjaro is licensed for type 2 diabetes as well as weight management, and any NHS diabetes prescription is arranged through your GP, who can tell you what applies to you. In England the standard NHS prescription charge is £9.90 per item unless you are exempt. Mounjaro is not insulin, and if you take insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting, so tell your prescriber. Private pen prices are on our product page.
