Where Can I Get a Weight Loss Jab If I Have a Lower Weight? (October 2026)
If your weight is lower, you can get a weight loss jab through a prescriber only if you meet the licence: a BMI of 30 or above, or 27–30 with at least one weight-related condition.1 Below a BMI of 27, Mounjaro is not licensed for weight management. 01 · Eligibility
Who can get a weight loss jab at a lower weight?
Only adults who meet the licensed criteria can be prescribed Mounjaro for weight management: a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Qualifying conditions include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.111

02 · Private route
Getting a jab privately if you qualify
If you meet the criteria, the Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 at the 2.5mg starting dose, and a new customer's first order is £40 less with code FIRST40. Every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). All six doses are in stock.
Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Same-day dispatch applies when ordered by 3pm. Start your free consultation to see if you are eligible.
03 · NHS
The NHS route
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 At a lower weight you are unlikely to qualify yet.

04 · If you are under BMI 27
What if your BMI is under 27?
Under a BMI of 27 you are outside the licence, so a responsible prescriber will not supply Mounjaro for weight loss.1 Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. Our weight loss treatments page lists other options to discuss with a clinician.
05 · What to expect
What results look like for eligible adults
In SURMOUNT-1 (2,539 adults), people taking tirzepatide with diet and exercise lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, versus 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. Individual results vary.2 Compare doses in our dose comparison.
Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
