01 · The short answer

What weight loss injections can you actually buy in the UK?

The weight loss injection you can buy legally from a UK pharmacy is a licensed prescription medicine, supplied after a consultation. At EverydayMeds that medicine is Mounjaro (tirzepatide), a once-weekly pen licensed for weight management in adults.1 You can order the Mounjaro pen online once a GPhC-registered prescriber has approved your consultation.

A prescription medicine offered with no consultation, no prescription and no pharmacy registration is a warning sign, not a bargain.

Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber.1 Our pharmacy is registered with the GPhC under number 9012878, and you can verify it on the GPhC public register.12 We source Mounjaro directly from Eli Lilly through official LillyDirect supply, and we stock genuine KwikPens in all six strengths.

02 · Costs

What does it cost, and what does the price include?

Each Mounjaro pen is one four-week supply, and the price rises with the dose. Standard prices are £169.99 for 2.5mg, £218.99 for 5mg, £279.99 for 7.5mg, £290.99 for 10mg, £319.99 for 12.5mg and £329.99 for 15mg, per month. A new customer saves £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including people switching to us at a higher dose. An automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25).

The consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order, and delivery is free next-day tracked in temperature-controlled packaging. Same-day dispatch applies when you order by 3pm. Saturday delivery is £14.99. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

For context, across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month depending on dose and provider (checked 12 October 2026). Boots' Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00. For the same dose, the gap between providers ranges from £27 to £41. Compare like for like by dose, because a starter pen and a 15mg pen are very different products.

03 · Ordering

How does ordering work?

Ordering takes three steps, and if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, your order is refunded automatically in full.

  • Free online consultation. A short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation. Start with our weight loss clinic.
  • Prescriber review. Your answers are reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
  • Dispensing and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen and sends it free, next-day and tracked.

You can pay by Visa, Mastercard or Klarna, and pay-monthly options exist. There are no subscriptions, and repeat orders re-check your suitability rather than auto-shipping. If you want the registration process explained, see how to register online for weight loss injections. Ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments are included with the prescribing team.

If you are comparing sellers with a narrower focus, our guide to the Mounjaro injection for sale goes deeper on pens, and GLP-1 medicines for sale covers the wider class. Our healthiest weight loss injections page looks at the safety side of the question.

04 · What Mounjaro is

What is Mounjaro, the weight loss injection we supply?

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly.1 In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen, called a KwikPen, in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg. Each pen contains four weekly doses, so one pen is one four-week supply.

Mounjaro is a regulated, licensed medicine with a published Summary of Product Characteristics and a patient information leaflet. That documentation is the difference between a medicine and a product with a persuasive label. You can read both on the electronic medicines compendium, and the leaflet comes in the box.13

The pens are sold under the brand name Mounjaro. That matters if you see listings for "tirzepatide weight loss for sale" from sellers who do not name a manufacturer, a pharmacy registration number or a prescriber. Tirzepatide is the active ingredient of a licensed medicine, and in the UK it should reach you only through a registered pharmacy after a prescriber has assessed you. Ours comes direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution through official LillyDirect supply, and all six doses are in stock.

How is it different from other injections? Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1.1 Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve how the body responds to insulin. In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet. This dual action distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic).

Mounjaro is a medicine used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. It is not a cosmetic jab or a one-off treatment. It is taken weekly, reviewed regularly, and stopped or adjusted on prescriber advice. If you want to see the product details and current dose prices, the Mounjaro pen page shows them live.

One practical note on clearance: tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1 Understanding this helps you plan, because a pen is a real commitment of weeks, not a single event.

05 · Who can buy it

Who can buy weight loss injections privately?

Anyone can apply, but only adults who meet the licensed criteria and pass a prescriber review will be supplied. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable for you.11 That is why the consultation is a clinical step, not a formality. Your answers are reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and if the medicine is not right for you, your order is refunded automatically in full.

Buying privately simply means the cost is yours rather than the NHS's. It does not mean the safety checks are lighter. A legitimate private pharmacy follows the same prescribing rules as any other: it assesses you first, supplies a licensed product, and keeps records. If a site lets you add a pen to a basket with no questions about your health, treat it as a reason to leave, not as convenience.

Why might a consultation say no? Typical reasons are a BMI outside the licensed range, a medicine you take that needs a different approach, or a health history that calls for specialist input. An accurate history lets the prescriber choose safely.

Not sure whether you fit the range? Work out your BMI first, then think about any weight-related conditions you have been diagnosed with. If you are in the 27–30 band, a diagnosed weight-related condition is what makes you eligible.

Ongoing supply stays under review too. Repeat orders re-check suitability, with no auto-shipping, so you remain in control of each pen and each dose. Our weight loss clinic page explains the support side, including monthly reviews and side-effect help.

06 · NHS versus private

NHS or private: which route suits you?

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years.6 NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.4 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

The honest comparison is this. The NHS route costs the prescription charge at most and comes with the NHS's own eligibility rules, which are narrower than the licence. The private route costs the pen price, but it follows the licensed criteria and can be started sooner if you pass the consultation. Neither route is a shortcut around clinical assessment.

If you think you may qualify on the NHS, speak to your GP first. The NHS guide to tirzepatide explains the medicine and who it is for.5 Wegovy's NHS access runs through specialist weight-management services, so ask your GP about that route.

Our page on HSE weight loss injections explains what applies for readers across the Irish Sea. For UK readers, the question is usually "can I wait for the NHS, or do I want to start now?"

Some people use both. They apply for NHS support through their GP and, in the meantime, use a regulated private pharmacy if they meet the licensed criteria and can afford the pen cost. If you do that, tell your GP what you are taking, so your records are accurate. If your NHS appointment comes through, you can discuss moving over.

Another practical point: private treatment gives you control of timing. You choose when to begin, and you pay month to month with no subscription lock-in. Klarna and pay-monthly options exist for people who prefer to spread the cost. But a private supply should never be rushed. Take the time to read the leaflet, understand the dose ladder and set realistic expectations before your first injection.

Our page on weight loss injections in Northampton covers how an online supply works when you do not have a clinic nearby. Because delivery is free and next-day, location rarely limits access.

07 · Realistic results

What results can you realistically expect?

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages. Individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2 As a worked example only, for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. Trial averages do not predict your own result.

Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month. Trials measured results at 72 weeks, so think in months, not days, and judge progress by trend, not individual weigh-ins.1

Experiences in the first weeks differ widely. Some people notice an appetite change and early loss in week one, while others feel little until a higher dose, and both are normal. Early loss includes water weight, so the trend over weeks matters more than any single weigh-in. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle.1

Treatment response is reviewed by your prescriber. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.1 This built-in review is part of why a prescribed supply differs from a product sold with dramatic weight-loss claims.

Keep a log of your weight trend, appetite and any side effects. The free GLPTrackr companion app (iOS and Android) is built for tracking a GLP-1 journey, and it gives your prescriber a clearer picture at review.

Finally, be wary of any seller who promises specific results or a timeline. No licensed product can. Our 100,000+ customers figure tells you how many people we have supported, not what any individual should expect.

08 · Dose ladder and year cost

How do the doses and the yearly cost work?

Everyone starts Mounjaro on 2.5mg once a week. This starting dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg, and can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals (7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg) up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it.1 Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. Higher is not automatically better, and your prescriber will guide the right pace.

That ladder drives the cost. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year of 52 weeks (13 pens) costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg. These totals are before discounts: a new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

If you settle at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg, your monthly pen price is £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99 respectively. On a weekly basis, the standard price works out at £42.50 for 2.5mg, £54.75 for 5mg, £70.00 for 7.5mg, £72.75 for 10mg, £80.00 for 12.5mg and £82.50 for 15mg.

PhaseWhat it coversCost at standard prices
First year at 5mg52 weeks, 13 pens£2,711.88
First year at 15mg52 weeks, 13 pens£3,599.88

A switching customer is a special case. If you already take a higher dose with another provider, your first order with us is £40 off at that dose. At 15mg, your first order is £289.99. Your prescriber will still review your history before supplying.

It is also why you should not treat the starter pen price as your ongoing cost. Plan from the dose you are likely to hold, and remember the dose is chosen with your prescriber on the basis of response and tolerance, not budget alone.

Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why live, dated prices matter more than any list figure.

09 · Injecting and missed doses

How do you inject, and what if you miss a dose?

Mounjaro is injected under the skin (subcutaneously) once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food.1 Licensed injection sites are the stomach area (at least 5cm from the belly button), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else gives the injection. Rotate the site with each dose. Each KwikPen contains four weekly doses.

There is no "best" time of day. Mounjaro works the same morning or evening, with or without food. What matters is the same day each week. Pick a day and time you will remember. Many people choose a weekend morning so early side effects fall on days off, and then stick to it.

The KwikPen is set by turning the dose knob until the dose indicator shows the correct dose in the window. Follow the pen's instructions for the injection itself, and read the leaflet in the box.13

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose entirely and take the next one on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.1

You can change your weekly injection day if needed, as long as at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.1 This is useful if your routine changes, for example for travel or shift work. Make the move once, then settle on the new day.

Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance are included with every order, so you do not need to buy extras. If this is your first time, read the guidance before the first dose, and contact support if anything is unclear. Our team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat, or by phone on 0333 207 0413.

Finally, new symptoms are worth raising. If something feels wrong after an injection, talk to your prescriber, and you can report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19 Reporting helps regulators monitor the medicine for everyone.

10 · Storage and travel

How do you store and travel with the pens?

Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge not above 30°C for up to 30 days, which is useful for short trips, after which it should be discarded. Keep the pen cap on to protect it from light, and never use a pen that has been frozen.1

Delivery arrives in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging by next-day tracked service, so plan to be in or arrange a safe place. Open the parcel when it arrives and move the pen to the fridge promptly, unless you are about to use it. Unopened pens should be kept in the fridge and keep until the expiry date printed on the box.13

If an unopened pen has been out of the fridge for any reason, check with the pharmacy before using it rather than relying on a remembered day limit. Figures circulating online often come from other countries' labels, and they are the wrong guide for a UK pen. Our support team can advise, and the patient information leaflet is the authoritative reference.

You can fly with Mounjaro. Carry pens in hand luggage, because hold luggage can fall below freezing. Ideally use a cool bag, and carry the prescription label or a copy of your prescription. In-use pens tolerate up to 30 days not above 30°C, so most holidays need no special arrangements, though for hot climates you should use an insulated pouch. Check destination rules for travelling with prescription injectables before you fly.1

A few practical habits help. Write the date you first used the pen on the box, so you know when the 30 days end. Keep the pen out of direct sun, car glove boxes and hot windowsills. Do not store it against the freezer compartment's back wall, where it could freeze.

What if a pen looks damaged, or the delivery arrives warm? Contact us promptly. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot be returned except faulty, damaged or wrong items, and you must tell us within 3 days. Refunds take 5–10 working days. Acting quickly protects both your safety and your refund.

This is another reason to buy from a pharmacy that takes cold-chain seriously. A pen that has been stored badly may no longer behave as tested, and sterility and potency are no longer assured outside the tested window. Reputable supply keeps that chain intact from Eli Lilly to your door.

11 · Spotting unsafe sellers

How can you spot an unsafe seller?

Weight loss injections are prescription medicines, so a seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme, and both exist because fake and unlicensed products have reached UK buyers.7 Mounjaro is supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber.

Run through a short checklist before you pay anyone:

  • Registration. Does the seller have a pharmacy registration number you can find on the GPhC register?12
  • Consultation. Is a clinician assessing you before supply, or is it just a basket and a card form?
  • Named product. Does the listing name a licensed brand and a manufacturer, or only a vague "peptide" or "fat-burning jab"?
  • Promises. Does it promise specific results or dramatic weight-loss claims? Real medicines do not.
  • Social media sales. Is the supply coming through a messaging app, a marketplace or a beauty-salon post rather than a registered pharmacy?

Press coverage in the UK has linked online sales of weight loss injections to patient safety concerns, which is why we say this plainly.

HCG and HGH deserve their own note. We do not supply these. If you are considering them, talk to a prescriber.

Also be careful with products pitched as natural alternatives, such as supplements sold as "nature's Ozempic". They are low-cost supplements with no clinical oversight, they are not equivalent to a licensed medicine, and their dosing is not standardised. Related reading covers specific niches, such as colostrum weight loss injections and Rena weight loss injections, where we explain what such claims do and do not mean.

This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice. Individual results vary, and a prescriber's assessment is the safeguard that no listing can replace.

12 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Can I buy weight loss injections privately?
Yes, but only as prescription medicines after a consultation. At EverydayMeds you complete a free online health questionnaire, and a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it before anything is dispensed. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately, so check the GPhC register first.
Can I purchase weight loss injections without a prescription?
Not legally from a UK pharmacy. Mounjaro and similar weight loss injections are prescription-only medicines, supplied only after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. A seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a warning sign, and the MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts for this reason. Our online consultation is free, with no obligation, and replaces the need for a separate GP appointment to get started.
How much is Mounjaro at Boots?
Across Boots' Mounjaro doses, prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 per month, depending on strength, as checked in our own index on 12 October 2026. Our standard pen prices run from £169.99 for 2.5mg to £329.99 for 15mg. Compare the same dose rather than the headline figures, and check live prices before ordering.
What's the cheapest weight loss injection you can get?
Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month depending on dose and provider (checked 12 October 2026), and the cheapest 2.5mg starter pen is £143.96. Cheapest is not the same as right, though. Choose a licensed medicine from a registered pharmacy, with prescriber review, and compare providers dose by dose, not on a single headline price.
How much does Mounjaro cost at Asda pharmacy?
Our index covers the UK pharmacies we track, where Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month across all doses (checked 12 October 2026). Our standard prices start at £169.99 for the 2.5mg pen.
What is a cheaper alternative to Ozempic?
Ozempic is not a UK weight-loss medicine, so cheaper alternatives for weight loss mean a different licensed product. Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes only; prescribing it privately for weight loss is off-label. The licensed weight-management options are Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4mg). Your prescriber can advise which suits you. Our Mounjaro pens start at £169.99 per month at 2.5mg. Avoid cheap supplements sold as alternatives, because they are low-cost with no clinical oversight and are not equivalent to a licensed medicine.
Can I buy Ozempic in tablet form?
Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes only — it is not a UK weight-loss medicine, and we do not supply it. For tablets, there are licensed GLP-1 options for weight management, such as Wegovy tablets and Foundayo, which are described in their product information. See current Wegovy tablet prices on the product page, and ask a prescriber which format suits you.
How many Ozempic pens for 1 month?
Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes — it is not a UK weight-loss medicine, and a regulated UK pharmacy will not supply it for weight loss. For the weekly weight loss pens we do supply, one Mounjaro KwikPen contains four weekly doses, so one pen is one four-week supply. Wegovy's dose ladder, by comparison, steps up after at least 4 weeks through 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.7 and 2.4mg. Check your own prescription or ask your prescriber for guidance on any other product.
Are HCG or HGH injections for weight loss for sale legitimate?
We do not supply HCG or HGH for weight loss. Both are prescription-only medicines, and sellers listing them online often operate outside regulated supply. If you are considering one, speak to a prescriber, because suitability is individual. A legitimate seller will be on the GPhC register, will require a consultation, and will not promise specific results.
Is tirzepatide for sale online the same as Mounjaro?
Tirzepatide is the active ingredient, and Mounjaro is the licensed brand made by Eli Lilly, supplied as KwikPens in six strengths from 2.5mg to 15mg. A listing for "tirzepatide" that names no manufacturer, pharmacy registration or prescriber is a concern. Our Mounjaro comes direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution through official LillyDirect supply, dispensed by a GPhC-registered pharmacy after prescriber review.
