How Omeprazole Works

Dosage and Administration
The standard dose for acid reflux is omeprazole 20mg once daily, typically taken in the morning. For gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), treatment usually lasts 4-8 weeks. Capsules should be swallowed whole with water and may be taken with or without food. Some patients may require 40mg daily or twice-daily dosing, as determined by our consulting pharmacists.
