01 · The core answer
Medical weight loss and wellness: what are you actually looking for?
The name is shared by many unrelated businesses, including clinics with a doctor's name or a town in the title. We are not connected to any of them.
Medically supervised weight loss here means a regulated prescriber assesses you, decides whether a licensed medicine is suitable, and reviews you as treatment continues. The medicine we supply for this is Mounjaro, the once-weekly pen, which is prescription-only and is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 Individual results vary, and it is not suitable for everyone. You should not take Mounjaro if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it must not be used during pregnancy; stop it at least one month before trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. Always share your full medical history and medicine list during consultation.
02 · Is it relevant to you?
Is this approach relevant to you?
Medical treatment is aimed at adults who want clinical support rather than a self-directed diet alone. Mounjaro is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults.1 Whether it is right for you depends on your health history, current medicines and goals, which is why a prescriber reviews every consultation. Our consultation is free, short and carries no obligation, and unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
| Route | What it involves | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| NHS weight-management pathway | Assessment through your GP or a specialist service, with access phased in over several years | Adults who meet the current NHS criteria |
| Regulated online pharmacy | Free online consultation, prescriber review, discreet delivery and monthly reviews | Adults who meet the licensed criteria and want to start without waiting |
| Local or branded clinic | In-person appointments; services, prescribers and pricing differ by business | People who specifically want face-to-face care |
| Low-cost supplements | Available cheaply without assessment; no clinical oversight | Not a substitute for supervised treatment |
Cost matters, so here is the one pricing point you need. Your first 2.5mg pen is £129.99 with code FIRST40, against a standard price of £169.99. Every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). All six doses are in stock, and prices were checked 12 October 2026.
03 · What to do next
What should you do next?
Decide whether you want a named in-person clinic or a regulated online service. If it is online, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register before sharing health details. Our registration number is GPhC 9012878. If you are ready to look at treatment, our weight loss clinic page shows how the service fits together, and the consultation takes only a short questionnaire.
04 · Clinic names explained
Why so many clinics share this name
Medical weight loss and wellness is a descriptive phrase, so it appears in the trading names of many unrelated businesses. Some add a doctor's surname, a town or a brand word.
We are not any of those businesses. EverydayMeds is a GPhC-registered UK online pharmacy, registration 9012878, providing prescription treatments for weight loss, sexual health, hair loss and acid reflux. We do not run local clinics and have no link with clinics abroad that use similar words. If you are looking for a specific named clinic, go to that clinic's own website or contact it directly.
The core elements are consistent whoever provides them: an assessment by a qualified prescriber, a decision on whether a licensed medicine is appropriate, clear information about side effects, and follow-up once treatment starts.
A few checks help whenever you are weighing up any provider. Look for a registration number you can verify on the public regulator's register.12 Look for a named, regulated prescriber involved in your care, not just a form that produces an automatic result. Look for clear information about what is included and what is not. And be wary of any service offering to supply a prescription medicine without a consultation or prescription.
Treatment is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and your prescriber or a registered dietitian can help you shape that in a way that suits your health.1
Because the name is generic, the same words also describe things that are not clinical at all, such as spa-style wellness packages or supplement-led programmes. Those are not the same as treatment from a regulated prescriber. A clinical service should be able to explain the medicine, its licence, its risks and how you will be monitored. If it cannot, treat that as a warning sign.
05 · What supervised care includes
What medically supervised weight management should include
Good supervised care is more than a prescription. It starts with an honest assessment, continues with monitoring, and has a plan for what happens when treatment changes or stops. Whatever provider you choose, these are reasonable things to expect.
Begin with the consultation. At EverydayMeds this is a short health questionnaire, free of charge and with no obligation. It is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not by a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. That sequence matters, because it means the clinical decision comes before the sale.
Next comes supply. Our medicine is dispensed by our registered pharmacy and comes from official LillyDirect supply, meaning Mounjaro direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, in genuine KwikPens. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day, and delivery is free, next-day, tracked and sent in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. Saturday delivery is available for £14.99.
Then comes aftercare, which is where many people feel the difference between a service and a transaction. Our prescribing team provides ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments, plus side-effect support. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing is shipped automatically, so you stay in control of each step. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order.
You are not left on your own with the practical side either. If you want to keep a record of your journey, GLPTrackr is our free companion app for tracking treatment, available on iOS and Android. Support is available on weekdays by email, through your account portal chat, or by phone.
It is also reasonable to expect the provider to say plainly what the medicine does and does not do. Mounjaro is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, and individual results vary.1 A service that promises specific results should make you cautious.
Finally, payment should be transparent. The price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees, and there are no subscriptions. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, or use Klarna and pay-monthly options. Your first 2.5mg pen is £129.99 with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price with code DOSE25.
06 · How Mounjaro works
How Mounjaro works
Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen, called a KwikPen, in the strengths 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.
The mechanism is what sets it apart. Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1 In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.
This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide, sold as Wegovy and Ozempic. Both are licensed, effective options, and the right choice depends on you and your prescriber.
The medicine is not a quick fix. It works by changing appetite signals, and it is intended to be used with changes to eating and activity. Treatment starts at the lowest strength and steps up, which gives your body time to adjust. Your prescriber reviews each step.
Because the gut is involved, some people notice digestive effects, particularly when starting or increasing the dose. The most common side effects, affecting more than 1 in 10 people, are nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation and abdominal discomfort, and for most people they ease within days to a few weeks as the body adjusts. If anything worries you, speak to your prescriber. You can also report a suspected side effect through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.19
Another practical point is how long the medicine stays in your system. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1 That is worth knowing if you are planning a break or discussing a change with your prescriber.
The trial that established tirzepatide for obesity is SURMOUNT-1, published in the New England Journal of Medicine.2
07 · NHS and private routes
NHS and private routes compared
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.
That is the honest picture, and it is worth being clear about what it means for you. If you are in a highest-need group, your GP or local NHS service is a sensible first conversation. If you are not yet in a group being offered treatment, or you do not want to wait, a regulated private pharmacy is a legitimate alternative, provided it follows the same prescription rules.
The differences are practical rather than clinical. The medicine is the same licensed tirzepatide. What changes is how you access it, how quickly, and what you pay. On the NHS, a prescription in England carries the standard charge of £9.90 per item unless you are exempt. Through a private pharmacy you pay for the medicine and the service, and the price is shown before you commit. Our standard price for a 2.5mg pen is £169.99, with your first order reduced by £40 using code FIRST40.
Neither route should skip assessment. Whether the prescriber is an NHS clinician or a GPhC-registered prescriber working with an online pharmacy, the question is the same: is this medicine suitable and safe for this person? Our model reflects that, with a free consultation, prescriber review and a refund if an order is unsuitable.
It also helps to understand what NHS guidance sets out. NHS information on tirzepatide covers who can take it and how it is used.5 Our dedicated guide to medical weight loss on the NHS goes into the pathway in more detail, and it is a good place to check where you might sit in the rollout.
Some people use both routes at different times, for example joining an NHS pathway once it opens to them. If that applies, tell whoever is treating you about any previous or current weight-management medicine. Never take two courses of the same medicine at once, and always make sure each clinician has your full picture.
Finally, remember that private treatment is a personal decision, not a shortcut. Think about the whole year ahead, including monthly cost and the follow-up you want, rather than only the starting pen.
08 · Planning the cost
Planning what treatment costs
The cost of medical weight loss depends on the dose you reach and how long you continue, so it helps to plan beyond the first pen. We show our prices live and never hide fees. The price shown is the price paid, and the consultation is free.
Start with the first four pens. If you step up after 4 weeks on each of 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg, your first four pens cost £959.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.
Once you reach your maintenance dose, the monthly cost is the price of the pen at that dose. Standard monthly prices are £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. Because every later order is £25 off the standard price, your real ongoing cost is lower than those figures.
For a first year of 13 pens at standard prices, the total is £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. Those totals are before discounts. Your dose depends on how you respond and what your prescriber advises, so treat these as planning bounds, not a prediction.
Context helps too. Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens range from £143.96 to £339.00 per month depending on dose and provider, checked 12 October 2026. For the same dose, the gap between providers ranges from £27 to £41. If you want to compare, look at the same dose across providers and check what each includes, such as consultation, delivery and follow-up.
Price is not the only variable. Consider whether the provider supplies genuine pens and whether delivery uses temperature-controlled packaging. Our supply is official LillyDirect, and delivery is free and next-day when you order by 3pm for same-day dispatch.
If you would rather spread cost, Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, and there are no subscriptions, so you only order when you choose to. Our guide to medical weight loss costs looks at the wider cost question, and the Mounjaro pen page shows today's live prices for every dose.
Be careful with very cheap offers. A price far below the others is a reason to ask questions about where the medicine comes from, not a reason to buy.
09 · Diet, activity and wellness
The wellness side: diet, activity and habits
The wellness part of medical weight loss means building habits the medicine can support. Mounjaro is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.1 That is the licensed approach, and it shapes how a good service talks to you.
Because the medicine helps most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, eating a reduced-calorie diet can feel more manageable. That is an opportunity to change what you eat, not just how much. Many people find it easier to plan regular meals, include protein and vegetables, and reduce highly processed foods. We do not prescribe a branded meal plan, and a prescriber or registered dietitian can tailor advice to your health conditions and preferences.
Activity matters too. You do not need to begin with intense exercise. Walking more, building in strength work when you are ready, and reducing long periods of sitting are practical starts. If you have a heart, joint or other condition, ask your clinician what is safe before increasing activity.
Sleep, stress and routines affect appetite and energy, so they belong in a wellness plan. Small, repeatable habits tend to last longer than strict short-term plans. Tracking can help you notice patterns, and our free GLPTrackr app lets you record your treatment in one place.
Hydration and mealtimes can matter when appetite is lower, because eating very little or skipping meals may leave you feeling unwell. If you notice persistent symptoms, tell your prescriber. If you have severe, persistent stomach pain, chest pain, a racing heart, fainting, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing, get medical help straight away. Read the patient information leaflet for the effects to look out for, and report suspected side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.1319
Think about the longer term, too. Habits you build while taking the medicine are the ones you will rely on later, whatever you and your prescriber decide about continuing. That is the real point of pairing treatment with lifestyle support.
Emotional wellbeing is part of the picture. Weight, food and body image can be sensitive subjects. If you feel low, anxious or struggle with your relationship with food, raise it with your GP or prescriber. Support is available, and it is as much a part of medical care as the medicine itself.
10 · Other medical options
Other medical options people compare
Mounjaro is not the only medical route. Medical options include injections, tablets and procedures, and the right choice depends on health, eligibility and preference.
Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Wegovy, a once-weekly injection. Its pens are 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg, stepping up after at least four weeks and reaching the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17. The 2.4mg dose is the licensed maintenance dose for weight management. It is a single-action GLP-1 medicine, in contrast to tirzepatide's dual action.
Liraglutide, sold as Saxenda and in products such as Erly, is supplied at a concentration of 6mg per millilitre. It is a daily injection, unlike once-weekly Mounjaro and Wegovy. Figures for it vary, and your prescriber can advise on how it compares for you.
Newer oral options exist too, including Wegovy tablets and Foundayo. Check current Wegovy tablet prices on the product page. Our guide to medical weight loss tablets in the UK explains the options and where each fits.
Some people consider procedures instead of or after medicine. Our overview of medical procedures for weight loss describes what they involve, and they are normally arranged through specialist services rather than a pharmacy.
Supplements are a different category. Products marketed as natural alternatives are available cheaply without assessment and carry no clinical oversight. Their dosing is not standardised, and they should not be treated as equivalent to licensed medicines. If you are tempted by dramatic weight-loss claims, ask whether the seller is regulated and whether a prescriber is involved.
When comparing, ask the same questions of every option: is it licensed in the UK for this purpose, who will review me, what are the risks, what happens if I stop, and what does it cost over a year? A good prescriber will welcome those questions, and our free consultation is a low-pressure place to ask them.
11 · Ordering and safe supply
How ordering works and how to buy safely
Ordering from us follows a clear sequence, and each stage protects you. You complete a free online consultation, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it, our registered pharmacy dispenses, and a tracked delivery arrives at your door. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
In the consultation you answer a short health questionnaire. It is free, and there is no obligation to continue. The prescriber then decides whether treatment is suitable. If it is not, the order is refunded automatically in full, and refunds take a number of working days to reach you.
Once approved, the medicine is dispensed by our registered pharmacy. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. Delivery is free, next-day and tracked through DPD, in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging. If you need Saturday delivery, it is £14.99. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance are included with every order, and you should follow the pen's instructions when you inject.
For storage, keep unopened pens in the fridge until first use at 2–8°C, and they keep until the printed expiry date. Once in use, a KwikPen can stay out of the fridge for up to 30 days (not above 30°C). For anything else, check the patient information leaflet or ask the pharmacy.13
Safe supply is a real concern with any prescription medicine bought online. The MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting problems.7 Before you buy anywhere, confirm the pharmacy is on the GPhC register, which you can check using the public register.12 Avoid any seller offering to supply without a consultation or prescription. Our pens are genuine KwikPens supplied through official LillyDirect, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution.
Repeat orders re-check suitability each time, and nothing ships automatically. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot be returned unless they are faulty, damaged or the wrong item, so check your order on arrival. If something is wrong, contact us promptly.
You can see the live price and start a consultation on the Mounjaro pen page. Your first 2.5mg pen is £129.99 with code FIRST40. If you are switching to us from another provider at a higher dose, your first order at 15mg is £289.99. Every later order is £25 off the standard price with code DOSE25. All doses are in stock.
12 · Reviews, stopping and next steps
Reviews, stopping treatment and what comes next
Treatment is not a one-off decision, so plan how you will review it. A good service checks in regularly, adjusts the dose with you and discusses what happens next. Ours includes ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team, plus side-effect support.
As treatment goes on, your prescriber looks at how you are tolerating the medicine, whether your dose is right and how your health is changing. They may keep you on a dose, move you up, or discuss pausing. Nothing should happen automatically, and you should feel able to ask questions at any point.
If you stop, remember that tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly four to five weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1 Talk to your prescriber before stopping so you can plan eating, activity and follow-up. Mounjaro manages weight; it does not cure the biology behind it. In SURMOUNT-4, people who stopped tirzepatide after 36 weeks regained on average 14% of body weight over the following year, while those who continued treatment lost a further 5.5% on average.
Habits are the part you carry forward. The licence describes treatment alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, so the routines you build are what continue to support you later.1 If you do not feel ready, you do not have to start anything. There is no obligation in the consultation.
Alternatives and local services also exist. Some people look for supervised programmes by town, and our related guides, such as medical weight loss in Stoke, cover the same clinical questions. Other related pages, such as Ixl medical weight loss, West medical weight loss and medical weight loss online health, cover other named services people ask about, and we are not connected to those either.
Whatever you choose, ask for the same things: a regulated prescriber, honest information, transparent pricing and aftercare. If you would like to see whether treatment suits you, our consultation is free and takes only a short questionnaire.
13 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
