Is Pharmacy to You Mounjaro Made in the UK? (October 2026)

No pharmacy makes Mounjaro: it is manufactured by Eli Lilly, and online pharmacies such as Pharmacy2U only dispense it after a prescriber has assessed you.1 The pen is the same branded KwikPen whichever pharmacy supplies it. With us, a 2.5mg pen has a standard price of £169.99 per month. Prices checked 11 October 2026.

A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is made by Eli Lilly. A pharmacy dispenses it but does not manufacture it, so "Pharmacy to You Mounjaro" is Lilly's product.
  • The branded KwikPen is the same product whichever UK pharmacy dispenses it, so the choice comes down to supply source, clinical oversight, delivery and price.
  • We supply genuine KwikPens through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, and all six doses are in stock.
  • A 2.5mg pen has a standard price of £169.99 per month. New customers save £40 on a first order with code FIRST40.
  • Check any seller on the GPhC register before ordering, and report suspected counterfeits or side effects through the Yellow Card scheme.
In this guide

01 · The short answer

Is Mounjaro made in the UK?

Mounjaro is made by Eli Lilly, the company that holds the brand, and it is not a product any UK pharmacy manufactures.1 Tirzepatide is a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine, licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1

The manufacturer and licence information is printed in the patient information leaflet that comes with every pen.13

02 · Dispensing, not manufacturing

What a UK online pharmacy actually does

A UK online pharmacy dispenses a licensed medicine against a prescription and does not make it. The steps that vary between providers are the ones that sit around the pen: the consultation, the prescriber review, how the pen is sourced, the packaging and the aftercare.

We supply Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. Every pen is a genuine KwikPen, and all six doses are in stock. Our registered pharmacy dispenses the order, and it ships in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging by free next-day tracked delivery. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day.

Our consultation is free and reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Our pharmacy is on the public register under GPhC number 9012878.12

03 · Price

What a Mounjaro pen costs with us

The Mounjaro pen has a standard price of £169.99 per month at 2.5mg, £218.99 at 5mg, £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg, £319.99 at 12.5mg and £329.99 at 15mg. Each pen lasts four weeks. New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40. Every later order is £25 off the standard price, applied automatically (code DOSE25).

Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pen at any dose are £143.96 and £339.00. The gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41. Boots' dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00. These figures come from our own index, checked 11 October 2026. Because the pen is the same product everywhere, comparing like for like on dose is the sensible way to shop.

Our consultation is free, the price shown is the price paid, and there are no hidden fees. You can pay by Visa, Mastercard or Klarna, with pay-monthly options and no subscription lock-in. Repeat orders re-check your suitability, and nothing ships automatically.

04 · How to order

How ordering works

Ordering takes three steps. First, start your free consultation, a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. Second, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Third, our registered pharmacy dispenses the pen and ships it, with needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance included.

Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat or on 0333 207 0413. Ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and side-effect support are part of the service. You can also compare options in our guide to the best pharmacy for Mounjaro weight loss in the UK. To order, go to our Buy Mounjaro page.

05 · Who makes Mounjaro

Who makes Mounjaro and what is in the pen

Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly.1 No pharmacy, whether a high-street chain, an online service or a small independent, produces tirzepatide. Pharmacies receive finished, branded pens and dispense them.

The pen is a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen. It comes in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 Each pen covers four weeks of once-weekly dosing, which is why the cost is quoted per month.

Because the product is branded and licensed, what you receive should look the same whichever UK pharmacy dispenses it. The packaging carries the Mounjaro name, the strength, a batch number and an expiry date, and the patient information leaflet sits inside. If any of those details is missing, or the pen looks different from the leaflet's description, contact the dispensing pharmacy before you use it.

People sometimes ask whether "UK-made" would be safer. The honest answer is that the place of manufacture is not what protects you. What protects you is the licence, the supply chain and the dispensing pharmacy. A medicine licensed for use in the UK has been assessed for quality, safety and effectiveness, and the SmPC and patient leaflet set out how it should be used.1 A product bought from an unregulated seller offers none of those assurances, whatever country it claims to come from.

Our own supply is official LillyDirect supply, sourced from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, so the pens we dispense come through the manufacturer's own channel. If you are comparing providers, ask each one directly how it sources its pens and where it is registered.

One more practical point: the manufacturer's name, and the details of the marketing authorisation holder, are printed in the leaflet.13 Keep the leaflet with your pen. It is the document to go back to if you have a question about storage, a missed dose or a side effect, and it is the document the pharmacy and your prescriber will refer to as well.

06 · Checking supply is genuine

How to check your Mounjaro supply is genuine

The most reliable check is whether the seller is a registered pharmacy that requires a consultation and prescription. Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Anyone offering to supply it without a consultation or prescription is not operating lawfully, and you should not buy from them.

Start with the register. The GPhC keeps a public register of pharmacies and pharmacy professionals, and you can look up a pharmacy by its registration number.12 Ours is 9012878. A genuine online pharmacy displays its number clearly, and the number should match the name and website on the register. If a seller will not show one, walk away.

Next, look at the way the product is described. Counterfeit medicine alerts are published by the MHRA, which also runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting suspected counterfeits and side effects.7 Be wary of social-media sellers, unusually cheap listings, pens with no leaflet or batch details, and anyone who promises specific results. Prescription-only medicines should never be sold like a supplement.

When your pen arrives, check it against the patient information leaflet.13 The strength on the label should match what you were prescribed. The pen should be intact, and the packaging should be undamaged. If anything looks wrong, do not use the pen. Contact the pharmacy and, if you suspect a counterfeit, report it through Yellow Card.19

Our own refund rules reflect the same caution. Declined consultations are refunded automatically in full. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot be returned except where the item is faulty, damaged or wrong, in which case you should contact us within three days. Refunds take five to ten working days.

It also helps to keep your prescribing in one place. A single pharmacy with a prescriber who knows your history can spot a dose that does not fit or a medicine that might interact. Splitting orders between several sellers removes that safety net. That is part of why we re-check suitability on every repeat order rather than shipping automatically.

If you are weighing up several named pharmacies, our guide to the best pharmacy for Mounjaro weight loss sets out the questions worth asking, and our page on Lloyd pharmacy Mounjaro covers one high-street name in more detail.

07 · Dispensing and supply

Manufacturer, wholesaler, pharmacy: who does what

The manufacturer makes the medicine. Eli Lilly does that for Mounjaro.1 A supplier or distributor moves finished pens to pharmacies. The pharmacy then dispenses against a valid prescription.

The pharmacy's job is more than posting a box. The prescriber has to assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether Mounjaro is suitable. The pharmacy then checks the prescription, dispenses the correct strength, labels it and supplies the leaflet.13 For a medicine that you step up through several doses, it also matters who reviews you as you go.

We describe our service like this. You complete a free online consultation. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Our registered pharmacy dispenses the pen, which leaves us by free next-day tracked delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Orders placed by 3pm dispatch the same day, and Saturday delivery is available for £14.99. The needles, sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order.

Once you start, aftercare continues. We run ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments through the prescribing team, with side-effect support when you need it. Repeat orders re-check suitability, so there is no auto-shipping and no surprise parcel.

The same three roles apply to every UK pharmacy. A branded pen from a supermarket-linked pharmacy, a chain, an independent or an online service starts in the same place, with the manufacturer. The differences are in the supply route, the clinical checks, the price and the support. That is why we suggest comparing providers on those points rather than on a manufacturing location that none of them controls.

If you are comparing named local pharmacies, we have pages covering Fair Oak pharmacy Mounjaro, Dam pharmacy Mounjaro, Notes pharmacy Mounjaro, Signature pharmacy Mounjaro and Ashford pharmacy Mounjaro. Each explains the same point: the medicine is Lilly's, and the pharmacy is the service around it.

08 · How Mounjaro works

How tirzepatide works

Tirzepatide activates two natural gut-hormone receptors at once, GIP and GLP-1, and it is the first treatment of its kind to do so.1 Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties and improve the way the body responds to insulin.

In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals. That supports a reduced-calorie diet, which is the other half of the treatment. Mounjaro is not a substitute for changing how you eat and move. It is licensed to be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide, which is sold as Wegovy and Ozempic. Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes — it is not a UK weight-loss medicine; the licensed weight-management options are Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4mg). If you are weighing the two, our page on all weight loss treatments sets the options side by side.

Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days. After your final dose it takes roughly four to five weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears. That is worth knowing if you ever pause treatment, switch medicines or need to tell another clinician what you have taken.

Dosing is weekly, and the pen is built around that routine. You start low and step up through the strengths with your prescriber's agreement, rather than going straight to a higher dose. The patient information leaflet explains how to use the KwikPen, and the pen's own instructions tell you how to deliver the injection.13 We include injection guidance with every order, and our team can talk you through it.

The mechanism is the same whichever pharmacy dispenses the pen, because the active ingredient and the device are Lilly's. That is the real answer to the idea that a pharmacy's "own" Mounjaro could work differently. A pharmacy cannot change the tirzepatide in a sealed branded pen. What it can change is how well you are looked after while you use it.

09 · Who can be prescribed it

Who can be prescribed Mounjaro privately

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Examples include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.

Meeting a BMI threshold does not mean you will automatically be prescribed it. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable.1 That is why the consultation matters, and why a provider that skips it is a red flag rather than a bargain. If the prescriber decides Mounjaro is not right for you, our order is refunded automatically and you pay nothing.

The consultation is a short health questionnaire, and it is free with no obligation. A GPhC-registered prescriber then reviews your answers. You may be asked about your other medicines, because some can interact with tirzepatide. If you are unsure about anything in your history, say so. It is better to raise it at the start than to discover a problem after you have received a pen.

The licence also covers type 2 diabetes. If you have diabetes and take other medicines for it, your prescriber needs to know. Insulin and sulfonylureas may need their doses adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar, which is a dosing conversation to have with a clinician rather than something to work out alone.

You can read the full detail of the product's licensed use in the SmPC and the leaflet.113 If you think you meet the criteria, the simplest route is to start the free consultation. The consultation is free; payment is taken when you place the order, and if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Not everyone who asks will be suitable, and that is a sign the process is working. A pharmacy that approves every request is not exercising clinical judgement. Ours is built around a real review, with a prescriber who can say no, and with monthly reviews once you have begun.

10 · NHS and private routes

NHS or private: how the two routes compare

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years.4 NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40 and above with four or more qualifying conditions.6 Full rollout is expected to take years.

That phasing is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. The licensed criteria are wider than the early NHS groups, so someone with a BMI of 30 or above may be eligible privately without yet being in an NHS cohort.1 Neither route is better in itself. The right one depends on where you are in the rollout and what you need now.

If you think you may qualify for NHS treatment, ask your GP. The NHS guide to tirzepatide explains what the medicine is used for.5 There is nothing to stop you asking about the NHS and also exploring private options while you wait. The medicine itself is the same product on either route. What differs is who pays, how quickly you can be seen, and the level of support around it.

The NHS prescription charge in England is £9.90 per item for those who pay it, but that does not apply to private prescribing. Private treatment is paid for in full, and our standard prices are £169.99 at 2.5mg up to £329.99 at 15mg per month. New customers get £40 off their first order, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.

For people with type 2 diabetes, tirzepatide has a separate NICE appraisal for that condition, and your diabetes team or GP can tell you what is currently offered locally.8 Policies and cohorts differ across the NHS, so the person who can is your GP.

If you choose private treatment, check the pharmacy's registration, insist on a proper prescriber review and keep your GP informed in the way you would for any prescribed medicine. Our hub page on buying Mounjaro online explains how a private order works from start to finish.

11 · What results to expect

What results the trials found

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary.

At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight.2 Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2 Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

To make the percentages concrete: for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg and 15% is about 15 kg. That is straight arithmetic on a trial average, not a forecast for you. Trial averages do not predict your own result, and your prescriber will review how you are responding at each stage.

These figures belong to the medicine and the trial, not to any pharmacy. A pharmacy cannot make the pen work better, and any provider that claims its Mounjaro delivers specific results is overreaching. What a good pharmacy can do is give you a safe route to the licensed medicine, supervise your dose changes and be there when you have questions.

This is also why we keep the focus on the clinical relationship. Monthly reviews give your prescriber the chance to look at how you are tolerating each strength and whether to step up or hold. Our companion app, GLPTrackr, is free on iOS and Android and helps you keep track of your own progress. It is a tracking tool, not a treatment.

Our page on weight loss treatments explains the options and what suits whom.

12 · Year cost planning

Planning the cost over a year

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 less.

Over a first year of 52 weeks, which is 13 pens, the cost depends on where you settle. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg. Those totals are at standard prices before discounts. If you settle at another maintenance dose, the monthly price is £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg or £319.99 at 12.5mg.

StagePensStandard cost
First year if you settle at 5mg13£2,711.88
First year if you settle at 15mg13£3,599.88

Budgeting is easier if you remember that you do not have to reach the top dose. Your prescriber agrees each step with you, and higher is not automatically better.

If you are switching to us from another provider at a higher dose, the new-customer discount still applies to your first order at that dose. Switching at 15mg? Your first order is £289.99. Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40, against a standard price of £169.99.

Spreading the cost can help. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Klarna, with pay-monthly options and no subscription lock-in, so you can stop when you and your prescriber decide to. Compare any quote on the same dose and the same service, since a lower headline price may leave out the reviews or delivery that we include. Our prices are checked and dated, so you can see when we last looked (11 October 2026).

13 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Is Pharmacy2U Mounjaro made in the UK?
Mounjaro is made by Eli Lilly, and no pharmacy manufactures it, so a Pharmacy2U pen is the same branded KwikPen you would receive elsewhere. A pharmacy dispenses the medicine after a prescriber has assessed you. Check the patient information leaflet in the box, and ask the pharmacy directly how it sources its pens.
Is Mounjaro the same whichever UK pharmacy supplies it?
Yes, the branded pen is a Lilly product with the same active ingredient, tirzepatide, and the same six KwikPen strengths from 2.5mg to 15mg, whichever pharmacy dispenses it. What differs is the service around it: how the pen is sourced, how thoroughly the prescriber reviews you, the delivery and cold-chain packaging, the aftercare and the price. Compare providers on those points rather than on where the pen was made.
Where can I find the cheapest Mounjaro in the UK?
Compare the same dose across providers, because prices differ by dose and by pharmacy. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pen at any dose are £143.96 and £339.00 (checked 11 October 2026). With us, a 2.5mg pen has a standard price of £169.99 per month. Only buy from a pharmacy listed on the GPhC register.
Can diabetics get Mounjaro on the NHS?
Mounjaro is licensed in the UK for type 2 diabetes as well as weight management, and NICE has a separate appraisal for the diabetes use. Whether you can be prescribed it on the NHS depends on local pathways and your clinical picture, which we cannot judge for you. Ask your GP or diabetes team. NHS access to Mounjaro for weight management is being phased in over several years, beginning with the highest-need groups.
What drugs should not be taken with Mounjaro?
Your prescriber needs to know about every medicine you take, because some can interact. Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed, and insulin or sulfonylureas may need their doses reducing to avoid low blood sugar. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 Check the patient information leaflet and discuss your full list with your prescriber.
What should I avoid while taking Mounjaro?
Treatment is designed to be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, so the main thing to avoid is treating the pen as a replacement for both. Follow the patient information leaflet for the full guidance, and tell your prescriber about any new symptoms or medicines. If you notice a side effect, you can report it through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme, and our team can support you with it.
Can I eat bananas while taking Mounjaro?
No food is banned on Mounjaro, including bananas. Smaller, slower meals work better, and very fatty, fried or very sugary food makes many people feel worse.
When is the best time of day to take Mounjaro?
There is no best time of day: Mounjaro works the same morning or evening, with or without food. What matters is injecting on the same day each week. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time. If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next one on your normal day.
How do I know a Mounjaro seller is genuine?
Check that the seller appears on the GPhC public register, that it requires a consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and that the pen arrives with a patient information leaflet, batch number and expiry date. Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, or promising specific results. Report suspected counterfeits through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. Our GPhC registration number is 9012878.
