  • Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40; the standard price is £169.99.
  • Every later order is £25 off the standard price, and there is no subscription.
  • Check the pharmacy on the GPhC register (ours is 9012878) before you pay anyone for a pen.
  • The NHS offers Mounjaro in phases, so many eligible adults choose regulated private treatment.
In this guide

01 · The process

How do you get Mounjaro online in the UK?

You get Mounjaro online by completing a health questionnaire with a regulated UK online pharmacy, then waiting for a prescriber to approve it. Ours takes three stages, and the consultation is free with no obligation.

  • Free online consultation. A short questionnaire covering your weight, medical history and current medicines. There is no charge for it.
  • Prescriber review. A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers; it is not a scoring script. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • Dispensing and delivery. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day, with free next-day tracked delivery in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging.

You can start your free consultation in a few minutes. For the full ordering walkthrough, see our guide to how to buy Mounjaro.

02 · Prescription

Do you need a prescription, and do you need to see your GP?

Yes, you need a prescription, because Mounjaro is a prescription-only medicine. You do not need to see your own GP first: the online consultation is the prescribing assessment, and the prescriber decides whether Mounjaro is suitable for you.

The prescriber works within the licence. Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 to 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.1 The prescriber also reviews your medical history and current medicines before deciding.11

Answer honestly. Misstating your details can put your health at risk, which is why we cover what happens if you lie to get Mounjaro in a separate guide.

03 · Cost

What does it cost to get Mounjaro online?

The Mounjaro pen costs £169.99 per month at the 2.5mg starting dose, and all six doses are in stock. A new customer saves £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25).

Across the UK pharmacies we track, the cheapest 2.5mg starting pen is £143.96 and the dearest is £179.99 (checked 10 October 2026), compared with our standard 2.5mg price of £169.99. For the same dose, the gap between providers ranges from £27 to £41. The consultation is free and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees.

Planning periodStandard-price cost
First year (13 pens), settling at 5mg£2,711.88
First year (13 pens), settling at 15mg£3,599.88

These totals are at standard prices before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less. Payment is by Visa or Mastercard, Klarna or pay-monthly options, and there is no subscription.

04 · Where to get it

Where can you get Mounjaro in the UK online, and what about Boots?

You can get Mounjaro from any UK online pharmacy that is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and runs a proper prescriber consultation. Check the pharmacy on the public GPhC register before you pay. Ours is registered as 9012878.12

Boots is among the pharmacies we track. Its Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 per month across its range (checked 10 October 2026). Whichever provider you choose, the route is the same: a consultation, then prescriber approval, then dispensing. We source Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution, and we stock genuine KwikPens in all six doses from 2.5mg to 15mg.

If you are struggling to find a pen anywhere, read our guide for when you can't get Mounjaro. For a wider view of what is available, see all weight loss treatments.

05 · Spotting unsafe sellers

How do you avoid fake or unsafe Mounjaro sellers?

Avoid any seller that offers to supply Mounjaro without a consultation or prescription. Counterfeit weight-loss injections are a recognised risk, and the MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting problems.7

  • Look for a named GPhC-registered pharmacy and confirm it on the public register.12
  • Be wary of social-media sellers, unbranded vials and anything sold as a cosmetic product.
  • A genuine pen is a Mounjaro KwikPen in six strengths, from 2.5mg to 15mg.1
  • Treat dramatic weight-loss claims as a warning sign. Legitimate prescribers do not promise specific results.

Low-cost supplements sold as alternatives carry no clinical oversight and are not the same thing as the prescription medicine. Our guide to GLP-1 support supplements explains the difference.

06 · NHS or private

NHS or private: which route suits you?

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40 or above with four or more qualifying conditions.46

Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. If you are in a higher-need group, ask your GP about NHS access. If you are not yet eligible, or do not want to wait, the online route is open to adults who meet the licence.

07 · After approval

What happens after your Mounjaro is approved?

After approval you start on 2.5mg once a week, and the dose rises only as your prescriber guides. Everyone starts on 2.5mg; this dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg, and can then step up by 2.5mg at intervals of at least 4 weeks, to a maximum of 15mg weekly. Many people settle at 5mg, 10mg or 15mg, and higher is not automatically better.1

The pen is injected under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food. Each KwikPen holds four weekly doses.13 Keep pens in a fridge at 2 to 8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. Do not use a pen that has been above 30°C or has been frozen.

Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. Aftercare includes ongoing monthly reviews, dose-titration support and side-effect support. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing ships automatically. Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed. Switch to a non-oral method, or add a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase. Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive.

08 · What results to expect

What results can you realistically expect?

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

These are trial averages, and individual results vary. Weight loss is gradual by design: the first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase, so think in months, not days. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether to continue, adjust or stop.1

Check any pharmacy's registration on the GPhC register.

Many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment instead of waiting.
