Your Mounjaro price guide · October 2026

How Many Units Is 7.5mg of Mounjaro? (October 2026)

Mounjaro 7.5mg is not measured in units. The KwikPen is set by turning the dose knob until the window shows 7.5mg, so there is no unit conversion to do and no syringe to fill. Units belong to insulin syringes, which are not used with a Mounjaro pen. Anyone quoting a unit figure is describing a different product or a method that is not licensed. Current as of October 2026.

A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • A Mounjaro KwikPen is dialled in mg. The window shows 7.5mg, never a unit count.
  • Do not draw medicine out of a KwikPen with an insulin syringe to work out units.
  • Unit figures online usually describe other products, such as compounded vials, which are not the licensed KwikPen.
  • If the dial will not reach a full dose, the pen does not hold enough and should not be used.
  • Unsure about your dose? Ask your prescriber or pharmacist before injecting.
In this guide

01 · The core answer

What 7.5mg looks like on a KwikPen

On a KwikPen, 7.5mg is simply the number you see in the dose window. You turn the knob until the indicator shows the correct dose, and you confirm it by that number, never by counting clicks.1 The pen will not let you dial past the medicine left inside.13

That is why there is no licensed answer to how many units 7.5mg of tirzepatide equals.

SituationWhat you do
Licensed Mounjaro KwikPenDial the dose in mg until the window shows 7.5mg
Insulin syringe and pen liquidNot how the pen is designed to be used; do not do it
Compounded or unlicensed vialNot the licensed product; ask your prescriber or pharmacist before using
Unsure what you holdAsk your prescriber or pharmacist before injecting

02 · What to do next

What to do if you are on or approaching 7.5mg

If you have a prescribed 7.5mg pen, follow the pen's instructions and the leaflet. Inject under the skin once a week on the same day each week, and rotate the site with each dose.13

Thinking about starting treatment? The Mounjaro pen at 7.5mg costs £279.99 per month at the standard price, and every pen is dispensed after a free consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. You can also explore our weight loss clinic for the wider service.

03 · Why syringes are risky

Why an insulin syringe is the wrong tool

The KwikPen is a pre-filled multi-dose pen, and each pen contains four weekly doses.1 Its dose mechanism is designed to deliver the strength printed on the dial. Pulling liquid out with a syringe is unlicensed, risks dosing errors and contamination, and has no safety data behind it.

Online unit charts are the usual source of confusion. They often mix up pens, vials and unlicensed methods, and are not reliable for the KwikPen. Treat any unit chart that does not name your exact product as unreliable.

04 · Dose ladder context

Where 7.5mg sits on the dose ladder

Everyone starts on 2.5mg once a week. After at least 4 weeks the dose rises to 5mg, then can step up by 2.5mg at minimum 4-week intervals through 7.5mg, 10mg and 12.5mg, up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on response and tolerability.1 Higher is not automatically better, and many people settle at 5mg, 10mg or 15mg.11

Each strength is its own pen, so moving up means receiving a new pen. Read more on whether 7.5mg is effective and what to expect at this stage.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
How many units is 7.5mg of Mounjaro?
None. A Mounjaro KwikPen is set in mg, so you turn the dial until the window shows 7.5mg. Units are an insulin syringe measure and do not apply to the licensed pen. If you are unsure how to read your pen, ask your prescriber or pharmacist before injecting.
How many units is 7.5mg of tirzepatide compounded?
Compounded products are not the licensed Mounjaro KwikPen, so no unit figure can be given for them. Use only a product prescribed and dispensed through a registered UK pharmacy, with instructions for that exact product.
How many units is 10mg of Mounjaro?
Also none. Every strength, from 2.5mg to 15mg, is delivered by dialling mg on its own pen. Moving to 10mg means receiving a 10mg pen, not drawing more liquid. The dose window is how you confirm the dose each time.
Is 2.5mg the same as a certain number of units?
No. 2.5mg is a dose of tirzepatide, while units are an insulin syringe scale. A KwikPen has no unit markings to read. Start on 2.5mg by dialling it in the window, as your prescriber and the leaflet instruct.
Can I use an insulin syringe with a KwikPen?
No. The pen is designed to deliver the dose you dial, and drawing liquid out with a syringe is not how it is meant to be used. Doing so is unlicensed, risks dosing errors and contamination, and has no safety data behind it. Follow the pen's instructions.
What if the pen will not dial to 7.5mg?
The pen does not hold enough medicine for a full dose, so do not use it for a partial injection. Each pen contains four weekly doses and will not dial past what is left. Contact your pharmacy for guidance and a replacement if needed.
Where can I get help with my dose?
Your prescribing team can explain your dose and pen at any time. If you order through us, ongoing monthly reviews are included, and support is available Monday to Friday by email, portal chat or phone. Report any side effects through the Yellow Card scheme. Seek immediate medical help for severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin or eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.
