01 · The short route
How to get a GLP-1 prescribed online in the UK
You get a GLP-1 prescribed online by completing a health questionnaire, having it reviewed by a prescriber, and receiving the medicine from a registered pharmacy. With us, the medicine is Mounjaro (tirzepatide), supplied through official LillyDirect channels as genuine KwikPens. The whole process is built so that a clinician, not a scoring script, makes the final decision.
- 1. Free online consultation. A short health questionnaire, no charge and no obligation to continue.
- 2. Prescriber review. Your answers are reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- 3. Dispensing and dispatch. Our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day.
- 4. Delivery. Free next-day tracked delivery by DPD in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.
Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order. You can start your free consultation at any time; it takes a few minutes and commits you to nothing.
02 · Costs
What onboarding costs, and what the price includes
The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid, with no hidden fees. The cost is the medicine itself. One 4-week pen at 2.5mg has a standard price of £169.99. A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, so your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99. After that, every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). If you are switching to us from another provider at 15mg, your first order is £289.99.
Ongoing clinical reviews, dose-titration support and side-effect support from the prescribing team are part of the service. There is no subscription: you reorder when you choose, and each repeat order re-checks suitability rather than shipping automatically. You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, use Klarna, or choose pay-monthly options. Browse the Mounjaro online order page for the live price for each dose.
| Stage | Pens | Standard cost (before discounts) |
|---|---|---|
| First year if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen | 13 | £2,711.88 |
| First year if you step up through every dose to 15mg | 13 | £3,599.88 |
| Settling at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg | 1 per month | £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99 per month |
These totals are at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.
03 · Suitability
Is online onboarding right for you?
Online onboarding suits adults who meet the licensed criteria and want regulated private treatment without waiting for an NHS pathway. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1
If you are unsure about suitability, the consultation is the right place to find out. The prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding. If the answer is no, you are refunded automatically in full. For wider background, our GLP-1 patient education guide covers the basics, and the weight loss treatments overview shows the other options we offer.
04 · What GLP-1 means
What "GLP-1" means and how it relates to Mounjaro
GLP-1 is the name of a natural gut hormone, and "GLP-1 medicines" is the everyday term for treatments that act on its receptor. That makes this a clinical purchase, and it is why onboarding matters.
Mounjaro is not simply "a GLP-1" in the way semaglutide is. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. Tirzepatide activates two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1 This dual action is what distinguishes it from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy and Ozempic).
So, to answer a common question directly: GLP-1 is the wider class and hormone name, while Mounjaro is one specific branded medicine whose active ingredient acts on GLP-1 and GIP. The two terms are related, but they are not interchangeable.
In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.1 The medicine does not replace the diet and activity changes; it is used alongside them.
In the UK, Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen (KwikPen) in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 Each strength is a separate pen, which is why onboarding includes a plan for how and when your dose changes over time rather than a single one-off supply.
Wegovy is a different branded medicine with its own dose ladder: 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg once weekly, stepping up after at least 4 weeks to reach the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17. You can see the Wegovy pen on its own product page. Liraglutide products such as Saxenda are daily injections, unlike the once-weekly Mounjaro and Wegovy.
Whichever medicine you consider, a prescriber should be the one to decide which is suitable. Beware of any website that lets you choose a medicine and dose yourself and simply pay. A proper onboarding process asks about you first and prescribes second, and that order is the clearest sign you are dealing with a regulated service.
05 · The questionnaire
Step 1: the free online questionnaire
The first step is a short health questionnaire, and it is free with no obligation. Its job is to give the prescriber what they need to decide whether a GLP-1 medicine is suitable for you. Completing it does not commit you to buying anything, and you are not charged at this stage.
The questions follow the same factors a prescriber must weigh. Licensing is based on BMI and weight-related conditions, so you will be asked for your height and weight. A BMI of 30 or above qualifies, as does a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1
You will also be asked about your medical history and the medicines you currently take. This matters because a prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines together before deciding.1 Answer fully and accurately. A half-completed or optimistic questionnaire does not speed anything up; it only hands the prescriber a less reliable picture of you.
Information worth having ready
- Your current height and weight.
- Any diagnosed conditions, including blood pressure, cholesterol, sleep apnoea, prediabetes or diabetes.
- A list of every prescription and over-the-counter medicine you take, including contraception and any diabetes medicines.
- Whether you have used a weight-loss injection before, and at what dose, if you are switching from another provider.
If you are switching, say so and say which dose you were last on. A new customer's first-order discount applies at any dose, including for people moving to us at a higher dose, but the prescriber still decides what dose is appropriate for you.
Our guide to GLP-1 patient information explains in more detail what to read before you begin. It is sensible to read the patient information leaflet for the medicine as well.13
There is one practical point about honesty. The questionnaire exists for your safety, not as a hurdle. If a condition or medicine means Mounjaro is not right for you, you are better off learning that in the consultation than after the pen arrives. Payment is taken when you place the order, and if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. That structure removes any reason to shade your answers.
Most people finish the questionnaire in a few minutes. If you get stuck, our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, through the account portal chat, or by phone on 0333 207 0413.
06 · Prescriber review
Step 2: prescriber review and who cannot take GLP-1
Your questionnaire is reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, who decides whether Mounjaro is suitable for you. This is a clinical judgement rather than a scoring script, and it is the most important step in the whole journey. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
The prescriber is checking three things. First, whether you meet the weight-management criteria: a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with at least one weight-related condition. Second, whether your medical history raises any concern. Third, whether your current medicines are compatible.1 Treatment is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Who cannot take a GLP-1 medicine?
There is no single list that applies to everyone, which is why the review exists. Adults who fall outside the licensed BMI criteria are not eligible for weight-management treatment. You should not take Mounjaro if you are allergic to tirzepatide or any of its ingredients, and it should not be used during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Your prescriber will take extra care, or may recommend against treatment, if you have a history of pancreatitis, severe gut or digestive disease, diabetic retinopathy, or gallbladder problems. Always share your full medical history and medicine list during consultation.1311 Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. If you become pregnant during treatment, stop the medicine and tell your prescriber promptly.
Two points are worth knowing in advance. Mounjaro can reduce absorption of oral contraceptives because it slows stomach emptying, so tell the prescriber if you use them. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.1 And if you take insulin or sulfonylureas, doses may need adjusting because of the risk of low blood sugar; that is a conversation to have with your prescriber rather than a reason to hide the medicine.
What happens after the decision
If you are approved, your order moves to dispensing. If the prescriber decides Mounjaro is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically and in full. Refunds take 5 to 10 working days to reach you.
It is also worth being clear about the limits of an online review. A prescriber can work only from what you tell them. If your circumstances change after approval, for example you start a new medicine, develop a new condition or become pregnant or plan a pregnancy, tell your prescribing team promptly. Repeat orders re-check suitability, so each reorder is an opportunity to flag anything new. There is no auto-shipping, which means you stay in control of when the next pen is sent.
If you want a fuller picture of what a GLP-1 involves before you decide, our patient education page is a good companion read.
07 · Dispensing and delivery
Steps 3 and 4: dispensing, supply and delivery
Once approved, your pen is dispensed by our registered pharmacy and dispatched the same day when you order by 3pm. Delivery is free, next-day and tracked by DPD, in discreet, temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is available for £14.99. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance are included with every order.
Where the medicine comes from
We supply Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply, meaning direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution. These are genuine KwikPens, and all six doses (2.5mg to 15mg) are in stock. You can check current availability and prices on the Mounjaro pen product page.
Protecting yourself from counterfeits
Fake and unlicensed weight-loss injections are a real risk, and the MHRA publishes counterfeit medicine alerts and runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting problems.7 Before buying from any online seller, check that the pharmacy appears on the public register of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).12 Our registration number is 9012878, and you can verify it on the GPhC register.
Warning signs include sellers offering to supply without a consultation or prescription, prices that look far too low, medicines sold through social media or messaging apps, and pens with no pharmacy dispensing label. A legitimate service will always ask you health questions first and will have a named registered pharmacy behind it.
What to do when the parcel arrives
Check that the parcel is intact and that the pen matches your order. Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away. Do not use a pen that has been above 30°C or has been frozen. Keep the pen cap on to protect it from light. If anything is faulty, damaged or wrong, contact us within 3 days. Dispensed prescription medicines cannot otherwise be returned, which is standard for prescription medicines.
If you are not at home, tracked delivery lets you follow the parcel and arrange to be present. Because the pen is temperature-controlled packaged, avoid leaving it on a doorstep. If you are choosing a delivery day, remember that same-day dispatch depends on ordering by 3pm.
After the first delivery, nothing is sent automatically. You reorder when you are ready, and each reorder is re-checked for suitability. That keeps supply under your control and under clinical oversight.
Being transparent about the process is part of the service: the price shown is the price paid, the consultation is free, and there is no subscription.
08 · Starting and titrating
Starting treatment: the pen ladder and the cost of titration
Treatment starts at the lowest strength and moves through the six pen strengths under prescriber guidance. Mounjaro KwikPens come in 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1 Your prescribing team sets how quickly you move up and where you settle, based on how you respond and tolerate it. Not everyone ends up at the same dose.
For planning, it helps to see the maths. Each pen lasts 4 weeks.
A full first year is 52 weeks, or 13 pens. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. Both figures are at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 less (code DOSE25).
Pen prices by dose
Each strength has its own standard monthly price, per 4-week pen:
- 2.5mg: £169.99 (about £42.50 per week)
- 5mg: £218.99 (about £54.75 per week)
- 7.5mg: £279.99 (about £70.00 per week)
- 10mg: £290.99 (about £72.75 per week)
- 12.5mg: £319.99 (about £80.00 per week)
- 15mg: £329.99 (about £82.50 per week)
These are standard prices, checked 12 October 2026.
Why a higher dose is not automatically better
In SURMOUNT-1, average weight loss at 72 weeks was 15% on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg, against 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 Those are trial averages and individual results vary. The right dose for you is the one your prescriber judges effective and tolerable, not simply the highest.
Use the pen as directed and speak to your prescribing team about anything that concerns you. For help staying on track between reviews, see our page on GLP-1 adherence, and consider the free GLPTrackr companion app (iOS and Android) for logging your journey.
09 · Results to expect
What results to expect, including the 3-month question
The key weight-loss evidence comes from the SURMOUNT-1 trial, which followed 2,539 adults for 72 weeks. People taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary.
At 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2
A worked example
To make the percentages concrete: for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg, and 15% is about 15 kg. Those are straight conversions of the trial averages and not a prediction for you. Your own starting weight, dose, diet, activity and health all affect what happens, and trial averages do not predict your own result.
How much can you lose in 3 months?
Three months in, most people are still on the lower rungs of the dose ladder, so losses at this stage are modest compared with the 72-week trial figures, with wide individual variation. A sensible 3-month expectation on a standard titration is mid single digits as a percentage of body weight, with wide individual variation. Slower early progress does not predict failure, because the dose you respond to may still be ahead of you.
A better approach is to set expectations with your prescriber at your monthly review, using your own measurements, and to judge progress over a longer period rather than week to week. Tracking weight, measurements and how you feel in the GLPTrackr app can make those reviews more useful.
What the medicine does and does not do
Treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.2 In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which makes a smaller-portion diet easier to follow.1 The medicine supports your effort; it does not remove the need for it.
Our figure of over 100,000 customers supported describes how many people we have served, not how well the medicine works. If you want to understand outcomes in more depth, our GLP-1 patient information page sets out what to read next.
10 · Safety and myths
Safety, side effects and the Ozempic myths
Every prescription medicine can cause side effects, and the complete list for Mounjaro is in the patient information leaflet, which you should read before your first injection.13 Common side effects are mostly digestive: nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation and abdominal discomfort affect more than 1 in 10 people, and they usually ease within days to a few weeks as the body adjusts. If you have a symptom you are worried about, speak to your prescriber or your pharmacist.
You can report any suspected side effect through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme, whether or not you are sure the medicine caused it.19 Our aftercare includes side-effect support from the prescribing team, so you do not have to work it out alone.
"Ozempic breasts", "Ozempic teeth" and "Ozempic smell"
If you notice a new symptom, such as changes in your breasts, mouth or teeth, or in body odour, mention it to your prescriber or dentist or GP, and report it through Yellow Card. Do not stop or change treatment on your own because of something you read online. Rapid weight change of any kind can alter how the body looks and feels, but that is a general point, not a statement about any specific side effect.
Why are people stopping Ozempic?
People stop any long-term medicine for many different reasons, including side effects, cost, access and personal choice. Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes. It is not a UK weight-loss medicine, and prescribing it privately for weight loss is off-label. If you are thinking of stopping, talk to your prescriber first. Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly 4 to 5 weeks to clear the system; there is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1
Staying safe when buying
The MHRA warns about counterfeit medicines, so only buy from a pharmacy that is on the GPhC register and that asks about your health before supplying.7 Be wary of anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription.
Finally, be sceptical of dramatic weight-loss claims on social media. Real results come from a licensed medicine, used with diet and activity changes, under clinical review. For more on what the pen is and how it works, see our GLP-1 technology guide.
11 · NHS and private routes
NHS or private: the honest picture
Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially people with a BMI of 40 or more and four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years.
That phasing is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. The licence is broader than the NHS criteria: Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition, so someone can be clinically suitable privately without yet qualifying for NHS access.
Choosing between them
| Question | NHS route | Private online route |
|---|---|---|
| Who qualifies? | Phased by need, starting with the highest-need groups | Adults meeting the licensed BMI criteria, after prescriber review |
| Timing | Depends on local rollout | Consultation online; same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm |
| Cost | NHS prescription charge of £9.90 in England where it applies | Pen price by dose, from £169.99 standard at 2.5mg |
| Follow-up | Through NHS services | Monthly reviews with our prescribing team |
If you are not sure whether you would qualify on the NHS, your GP is the best first call. You do not have to choose permanently: some people start privately and later move to an NHS pathway when it becomes available to them, and it is sensible to tell your GP about any weight-management medicine you take.
Why a UK-regulated pharmacy matters
Some summaries of online GLP-1 care describe US-style platforms that route prescriptions to partner pharmacies. Our route is different in structure: a GPhC-registered UK pharmacy, a GPhC-registered prescriber, and licensed Mounjaro supplied through official LillyDirect channels. You can verify our registration (9012878) on the public GPhC register.12
Planning around price changes
List prices for Mounjaro rose in the UK on 1 September 2025. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts. Our own prices are shown live and dated, and we recommend comparing providers by dose and by what the price includes.
When you compare, check that the price includes the consultation, delivery and follow-up. Ours does: the consultation is free, delivery is free next-day, and monthly reviews are part of the service.
12 · Aftercare and staying on track
Aftercare: reviews, support and staying on track
Onboarding does not end when the first pen arrives. Our aftercare includes ongoing monthly reviews, dose titration and follow-up assessments by the prescribing team, plus side-effect support. This is where much of the real clinical value sits, because the right dose and the right pace are rarely clear on day one.
What a monthly review covers
Each review is a chance to look at how you are tolerating the current strength, whether to step up, hold or change, and whether anything in your health or medicines has changed. Repeat orders re-check suitability, so tell the team about new diagnoses, new medicines or planned pregnancy as soon as they arise. Nothing ships automatically, so every pen you receive is one you have chosen to reorder.
Using the medicine well
Mounjaro is a once-weekly injection used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.1 Follow the instructions supplied with the pen and in the leaflet for each injection, and keep to the same day each week as prescribed. If you have any doubt about a missed dose or injection technique, ask the prescribing team or your pharmacist rather than improvising.
Keeping going matters for outcomes. In SURMOUNT-1, the results were achieved over 72 weeks of treatment alongside diet and exercise,2 so planning for the long term is sensible. Our GLP-1 adherence guide covers practical habits, and GLPTrackr, our free companion app for iOS and Android, helps you log doses, weight and symptoms between reviews.
Support when you need it
Our team is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You can email support@everydaymeds.co.uk, use the account portal chat, or phone 0333 207 0413. For urgent medical concerns outside those hours, contact NHS services rather than waiting for us.
Stopping or pausing
If you want to stop, talk to your prescriber first. After a final dose, tirzepatide takes roughly 4 to 5 weeks to clear the system because its half-life is about five days, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1 Because there is no subscription, you can simply stop reordering.
Paying in a way that suits you
You can pay by Visa or Mastercard, use Klarna, or choose pay-monthly options. With no subscription lock-in, you are not committed beyond the pen you order. To see all the treatments we offer in one place, visit the weight loss treatments page, or begin your free consultation when you are ready.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription-only medicine, supplied only after an online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Individual results vary. This page is information, not a substitute for medical advice.
13 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
