How much does a 10mg Mounjaro pen cost?

A 10mg pen costs £290.99 at our standard price, checked 11 October 2026. That one Mounjaro pen contains four weekly doses of 10mg, so you are paying £72.75 per week of treatment. A new customer's first order is £40 less with code FIRST40, and this applies at any dose, including 10mg if you are switching to us from another provider. After that, an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Every later order is therefore £25 off the standard price.

The consultation is free, and the price shown is the price paid. There are no hidden fees. What the 10mg pen means over a year

Few people start at 10mg, so plan the cost in phases. Everyone starts on 2.5mg and steps up at no less than 4-week intervals. The table shows totals at standard prices before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less.

What a 10mg Mounjaro KwikPen actually contains

A 10mg Mounjaro KwikPen is a pre-filled, multi-dose pen that delivers four weekly doses of 10mg tirzepatide. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.¹

This matters for price comparisons, because the pen strength is the strength of each weekly dose, not the total in the pen. A 10mg pen therefore holds four doses and lasts four weeks. When you see a price quoted for a 10mg pen, you are looking at one month of treatment at that dose. That is why our headline figure is £290.99 per pen, with £72.75 as the weekly equivalent.

One more point on value: because a pen is built for four doses, the price per pen is the price of four weeks of licensed treatment. Quotes that look unusually low for a full pen deserve a second look.

The pen is injected under the skin once a week, on the same day each week. Each pen contains four weekly doses, so a single order is one month of treatment at the dose on the label.

06 · Getting to 10mg: titration

How people reach the 10mg dose

Nobody begins on 10mg: everyone starts Mounjaro on 2.5mg once a week. This starting dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg, and can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals (7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg) up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it.¹

Taking the quickest permitted route, you would reach 10mg in your fourth pen, after 12 weeks on lower doses. That is why the first four pens, covering 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg and 10mg, cost £959.96 at standard prices. Your prescriber guides the pace, and can hold you on a dose for longer if side effects are the concern.

Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg. Higher is not automatically better, and your prescriber will guide the right pace.¹¹ If you are already on 10mg elsewhere and thinking of moving, you can order 10mg directly after the consultation. Review points matter for cost too. 07 · What 10mg results look like

What results people had on 10mg in the trials

In SURMOUNT-1, adults taking 10mg tirzepatide lost on average 19.5% of their body weight over 72 weeks. The trial enrolled 2,539 adults, who took tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise. The comparison group using lifestyle changes alone lost 3.1%.² These are trial averages, individual results vary, and treatment works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them.

Looking at how many people reached particular thresholds: at 72 weeks, 89% of participants on 10mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight, and half of participants on 10mg lost at least 20%.² For comparison within the same trial, the average was 15% on 5mg and 20.9% on 15mg, with 85% and 91% respectively losing at least 5%.²

To make the percentage concrete, for someone starting at 100 kg, 19.5% is about 19.5 kg. That is straight arithmetic on the trial average, not a prediction for any individual, and trial averages do not predict your own result.

Your prescriber decides based on how you respond and tolerate treatment.

Pace is also worth stating plainly. Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month.¹¹ Trials measured results at 72 weeks, so think in months, not days, and judge progress by the trend rather than individual weigh-ins.

By the time you reach a 10mg pen you will have spent at least 12 weeks on lower doses. Budget for that whole journey rather than only the 10mg pen.

08 · Comparing prices across pharmacies

How 10mg pen prices compare across pharmacies

Across the UK pharmacies we track, Mounjaro pens cost between £143.96 and £339.00 per pen, depending on dose and provider (checked 11 October 2026). That range covers every dose from 2.5mg to 15mg, so it is not a 10mg figure. For the same dose, the gap between providers runs from £27 at the narrowest to £41 at the widest.

For the 2.5mg starting pen alone, the pharmacies we track range from £143.96 to £179.99. Boots' Mounjaro dose prices run from £179.00 to £339.00 across its range of doses.

Why do prices differ at all? Eli Lilly announced a UK list-price increase for Mounjaro on 14 August 2025, effective 1 September 2025. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, so two providers buying the same pen can charge differently.

The safe ways to reduce what you pay are the discounts and comparing like for like. Start with the discounts. 10 · Counterfeit and genuine pens

Counterfeit pens: why a very low price is a warning sign

Falsified Mounjaro pens are in circulation in the UK, and a price that looks too good to be true should make you stop. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.⁷

Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.¹² Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. Anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is not operating legitimately, whatever the price. Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked. Our Mounjaro comes through official LillyDirect supply, direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution.

When your pen arrives, run through a short check. A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless.¹³ Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, or has been above 30°C or out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use.¹³

11 · NHS versus private

NHS or private: what is realistic for 10mg

Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.⁴⁶ Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.

An NHS prescription in England carries the standard prescription charge of £9.90 per item where it applies, though whether you qualify for NHS Mounjaro at all depends on your local rollout stage and clinical need. Your GP is the right person to ask. The NHS guide to tirzepatide is a good starting point.⁵

Private treatment follows the licence rather than the rollout stage. Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.¹ A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether it is suitable.

For private patients, that assessment is our free consultation, reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.

Which route suits you comes down to timing and eligibility. If you meet the NHS criteria and can wait for local access, the NHS route is an option.

Your 10mg pen is dispensed by our registered pharmacy and sent with free next-day tracked delivery. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. The courier is DPD, and the packaging is temperature-controlled and discreet. If you want a Saturday arrival, Saturday delivery is £14.99.

The journey has four stages. The first is a free online consultation: a short health questionnaire with no charge and no obligation. 13 · Storage, travel and dosing day

Storing and using your 10mg pen

Keep Mounjaro pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, which is useful for short trips, and must then be thrown away. Keep the pen cap on to protect it from light, and never use a pen that has been frozen.¹ Unopened pens stay in the fridge and keep until the expiry date printed on the box.

You can fly with Mounjaro. Carry pens in hand luggage, because hold luggage can fall below freezing, ideally in a cool bag with the prescription label or a copy of your prescription. In-use pens tolerate up to 30 days not above 30°C, so most holidays need no special arrangements. For hot climates use an insulated pouch, and check destination rules for travelling with prescription injectables before you fly.¹ If an unopened pen has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy before using it rather than relying on a remembered day limit.

On the dosing itself, Mounjaro is injected under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food. Licensed sites are the stomach area (at least 5cm from the belly button), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else gives the injection. Rotate the site with each dose.¹ There is no best time of day. What matters is the same day each week.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take the next one on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other.¹ You can change your injection day, as long as at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.¹

If you are unsure about anything in the patient information leaflet,¹³ ask the pharmacy before injecting.

Early effects are worth knowing about too. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle. Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed. The SmPC advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.¹ Tell your prescriber about any new or lasting symptom, and you can report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.

14 · Serious side effects

Serious side effects: when to get help straight away

Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.¹
