A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
Compare the same dose at each pharmacy. The gap between providers for one dose can be large: £27 to £41 across the pharmacies we track.
-
A new customer's first order is £40 off at any dose, and every later order is £25 off the standard price.
-
Cheap supplements are not GLP-1 medicines. They are low-cost and have no clinical oversight.

01 · The core answer
Where a GLP-1 really is cheaper
Real savings come from three places: comparing like-for-like doses, using discounts and checking NHS eligibility. Everything else is usually a trade-off in safety.
Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injection licensed in the UK for weight management and type 2 diabetes.1 Our Mounjaro pen prices are shown live on the product page. A 2.5mg pen has a standard price of £169.99 per month, and a 5mg pen is £218.99.
| Way to save | How it works | Safe? |
|---|---|---|
| Compare the same dose | Providers charge very different amounts for the same pen. The gap runs from £27 to £41 across the UK pharmacies we track. | Yes, if the pharmacy is on the GPhC register |
| New-customer discount | £40 off a first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including if you switch from another provider at a higher dose. | Yes |
| Reorder discount | Every later order is £25 off the standard price (code DOSE25). | Yes |
| Stretching pens or extracting extra doses | Makes a pen last longer than designed. | No: unlicensed and unsafe |
| Social media or salon sellers | Lower headline price. | No: counterfeit risk |
| Supplements sold as "natural GLP-1" | Low-cost, available without assessment, no clinical oversight. | Not a like-for-like substitute |
After a new customer's first order, the ongoing monthly cost at any dose is that dose's standard price less £25.
02 · Budgeting
Planning the full cost, not just the first pen
The first pen is not the typical cost, because the dose rises over time. If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. A new customer's first order is £40 less than these figures assume, and every later order is £25 less.
Settling at 7.5mg, 10mg or 12.5mg costs £279.99, £290.99 or £319.99 per month respectively at standard prices. A cheaper first pen on its own tells you very little.
Switching from another provider at a higher dose? Your first order at 15mg is £289.99, as a first-order price. Pay-monthly options and Klarna spread the cost, with no subscription lock-in.
03 · Choosing a medicine
Mounjaro or Wegovy: does the cheaper one win?
Not automatically, because the right medicine is a clinical decision first and a price decision second. Both are licensed once-weekly weight-management injections. Wegovy (semaglutide) steps up after at least four weeks through 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg and 1.7mg, reaching the 2.4mg maintenance dose from week 17.18 Our first Wegovy pen costs £99.99 as a first-order price.
Tirzepatide activates two gut-hormone receptors, GIP and GLP-1, which is what distinguishes it from single-action medicines such as semaglutide.1 Choose on suitability and tolerability with your prescriber, then compare prices at the dose you will actually take.
Mounjaro must not be used during pregnancy, and it should be stopped at least one month before trying to conceive. If you become pregnant during treatment, stop the medicine and tell your prescriber promptly. Mounjaro slows stomach emptying, which can reduce how well oral contraceptive pills are absorbed: switch to a non-oral method, or add a barrier method (such as condoms), for 4 weeks after starting Mounjaro and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.

04 · Counterfeit risk
Why the bargain price can be a fake
A price far below the others should make you suspicious, not excited. The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7
Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation, so anyone offering to supply without a consultation or prescription is a warning sign.7 We are GPhC-registered (9012878) and source Mounjaro through official LillyDirect supply.
A genuine pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, and arrives cold-chain packaged. The solution inside should be clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, or has been above 30°C or out of the fridge for more than 30 days after first use. If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact it before injecting.12
05 · NHS route
The NHS route: free at the point of use, but phased
The NHS is the lowest-cost route if you qualify, apart from the prescription charge of £9.90 in England where it applies. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46
Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. Ask your GP where you sit in the queue, and keep private treatment as a fallback.
06 · Pills and supplements
Cheaper pills, alternatives and supplements
Wegovy tablets and Foundayo are separate licensed products with their own product information. See current prices on our weight loss clinic page, and do not compare their trial results with Mounjaro's as if they were head to head.
Liraglutide (Saxenda, and products such as Erly) is a daily injection at a concentration of 6mg per millilitre, unlike once-weekly Mounjaro and Wegovy. Whether it is cheaper for you depends on dose and provider, so your prescriber can advise.
Supplements marketed as "nature's Ozempic", including berberine, are low-cost and available without assessment. They are not GLP-1 medicines, there is no clinical oversight, and dosing is not standardised. Dramatic weight-loss claims on their packaging should not be taken at face value. A supplement being cheap is a reason for caution about its effect, not a point in its favour. For a fuller look at the options, see our guide to a cheaper alternative to GLP-1 medicines.
07 · Value for money
Judging value, not just price
The cheapest pen is poor value if it does not suit you or you cannot stay on it. Mounjaro works alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. Trial averages do not predict your own result, and individual results vary.2
Value also includes what is bundled with the price. Our consultation is free and reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and the price shown is the price paid. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Delivery is free next-day tracked in temperature-controlled packaging, with same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm. Needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance come with every order, and ongoing monthly reviews are included. Repeat orders re-check suitability, with no auto-shipping.
These details matter when you compare providers, because add-on charges can erase a lower headline price. Ask any pharmacy what is included before you commit. Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing.
08 · How to order
How ordering works
Ordering takes three steps. First, complete a short, free online consultation with no obligation. Second, a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews your answers. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full. Third, our registered pharmacy dispenses your pen and we send it by free next-day tracked delivery. Saturday delivery is £14.99.
Stock for all strengths is in stock. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, by email at support@everydaymeds.co.uk, account chat or phone on 0333 207 0413. The free GLPTrackr app helps you track your progress.
How ordering works
How ordering works at EverydayMeds
Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.
Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes
Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.
Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day
A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.
Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery
Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.
Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.
Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.
