A quick overview
What to know
before you start.
-
Canvey Island Lemon Bottle prices are set by each clinic and depend on the area treated; ask for a written quote covering every session.
-
Lemon Bottle is marketed for localised fat areas, whereas Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults who meet the criteria.
-
A Mounjaro pen is four weekly doses; the 2.5mg starter is £169.99 at standard price, with a new-customer discount on the first order.
-
Never buy Mounjaro from a salon or social media; the MHRA has seized fake pens, some containing insulin.
-
Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
In this guide
01 · Cost
What a lemon weight loss injection costs in Canvey Island
The honest answer is that it depends on the clinic, and we are not a Lemon Bottle supplier. Local salons and aesthetic practitioners set their own fees, usually by the size of the area treated and the number of sessions.
Ask any Canvey Island provider for a written quote that answers five things: the price per session, how many sessions they expect you to need, what happens if you need more, whether a consultation is charged separately, and who is carrying out the treatment and what their qualifications are. If a provider cannot answer clearly, treat that as information in itself.
It also helps to be clear about what you are buying. Lemon Bottle is marketed for contouring small areas, not as a licensed weight-management medicine. If your goal is to lose a meaningful amount of weight, a different type of treatment is involved.
02 · Alternative
The licensed alternative: Mounjaro pricing
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 It is a once-weekly injection supplied as a pen with four doses. The Mounjaro pen at the starting 2.5mg dose has a standard price of £169.99 per month, with 5mg at £218.99, 7.5mg at £279.99, 10mg at £290.99, 12.5mg at £319.99 and 15mg at £329.99. All six doses are in stock.
New customers save £40 on their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, and an automatic £25 reorder discount applies to every future order (code DOSE25). The price shown is the price paid, and the consultation is free. You can read how the codes work on our Mounjaro discount code page.
03 · Ordering
How ordering works
Ordering takes three steps; payment is taken when you place the order, and if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
- Free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, with no charge and no obligation.
- Prescriber review: a GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. Unsuitable orders are refunded automatically.
- Dispatch and delivery: same-day dispatch when ordered by 3pm, then free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging. Saturday delivery is £14.99.
You can start your free consultation whenever you are ready. A comparison of other routes is on our private weight loss injection cost guide, and our GLP-1 weight loss injection cost page explains how prices differ across this medicine class.
Our service is dispensed by a registered pharmacy (GPhC 9012878), supplied directly through official LillyDirect supply, and backed by ongoing monthly reviews. Klarna and pay-monthly options are available, with no subscription lock-in.
04 · Lemon Bottle versus medicine
Lemon Bottle versus a weight-loss medicine
The two things people mean by a lemon weight loss injection are quite different, and the difference decides which cost is relevant to you. A local fat-dissolving treatment is a cosmetic procedure aimed at a specific area. A prescription weight-loss injection is a medicine that acts on the whole body and is taken weekly under a prescriber's supervision.
We do not supply Lemon Bottle or any fat-dissolving product.
Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly. In the UK it is licensed for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes, and it comes as a pre-filled multi-dose pen (KwikPen) in six strengths: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg.1
This difference matters for planning. A one-off local session has a price per visit. A medicine taken weekly has a monthly cost that runs for as long as you stay on treatment, and it comes with clinical reviews. Neither is automatically the better choice; they answer different goals. If you want to smooth one small area, a local clinic is where that conversation happens. If your aim is a lower overall body weight, you are looking at a medical pathway, and the sensible starting point is a consultation with a prescriber who can look at your health history.
Names add confusion. Marketing names do not tell you what is in the vial. Before you pay for anything, ask what the active ingredient is, who makes it, whether it is licensed in the UK for the purpose you have in mind, and who will be responsible for your care if something goes wrong.
A useful rule is that a genuine weight-loss treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. If a provider offers a quick injection without asking about your health, medicines or history, step back and check their registration before going any further. That applies equally to salons, pop-up clinics and social media sellers.
05 · How Mounjaro works
How Mounjaro works
Tirzepatide is the first treatment of its kind to activate two natural gut-hormone receptors at once: GIP and GLP-1. Together these help regulate appetite, slow how quickly the stomach empties, and improve the way the body responds to insulin.1 In practice, most people feel fuller sooner and less hungry between meals, which supports a reduced-calorie diet.
This is a very different mechanism from a local injection into one area. Mounjaro does not target a body part. It changes appetite signals, so the effect shows up across the whole body as a lower overall weight, rather than in one chosen spot. You cannot choose where weight comes off.
This dual action is what distinguishes Mounjaro from single-action GLP-1 medicines such as semaglutide (Wegovy/Ozempic). We keep our comparisons fair: both are licensed, effective treatments, and the right one depends on your history, your tolerance and what your prescriber recommends. Our page on the cost of new weight loss injections sets out how newer options are priced.
Tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days. After a final dose it takes roughly 4–5 weeks to clear the system. There is no way to speed this up, and nothing needs doing while it clears.1 This is useful to know if you are thinking about stopping, or if you have a side effect and wonder why it takes a while to ease.
Mounjaro is used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity, not instead of them. The medicine reduces hunger; it does not make food choices for you. The people who do best tend to treat the first weeks as a chance to build habits that they can keep when the dose settles. In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of their body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, compared with 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone.2 These are trial averages, and individual results vary.
Everyone starts on 2.5mg once a week. That starting dose is about letting your body adjust, not about weight loss itself. For this reason, anyone comparing a one-session local treatment with Mounjaro should think in months.
06 · Eligibility and the NHS
Who can have Mounjaro, and what about the NHS?
Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes.1 It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
That is a medical threshold, and it is one reason a local cosmetic treatment and a prescription medicine are not interchangeable. A prescriber will assess your BMI, medical history and current medicines before deciding whether Mounjaro is suitable for you.1 If you do not meet the criteria, or if the prescriber decides it is not right for you, the order is refunded automatically in full.
Many Canvey Island readers will wonder about the NHS first. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting.
The NHS charge for a standard prescription in England is £9.90, but that does not describe what a weight-management injection costs, and your GP can tell you where you sit in the local rollout. You can read the NHS guidance on tirzepatide for general information.
Private treatment is a choice, not a requirement. If you are eligible for NHS support, it is reasonable to ask your GP about it first. If you decide to go privately, choose a pharmacy you can look up on the GPhC register and make sure a named prescriber reviews you.
Everything about our service follows the same logic: a free online consultation, review by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and monthly reviews while you are on treatment. Repeat orders re-check suitability, and nothing ships automatically. That structure is the opposite of a one-off walk-in session, and it is worth weighing up when you compare costs.
07 · Realistic pace of results
How fast do results come?
Weight loss on Mounjaro is gradual by design, and it is measured in months, not days. The first weeks on 2.5mg are an adjustment phase and losses are usually modest. Most measurable progress builds from 5mg onward, month by month.
Trials measured results at 72 weeks. In SURMOUNT-1, at 72 weeks, 85% of participants on 5mg, 89% on 10mg and 91% on 15mg had lost at least 5% of their body weight. Half of participants on 10mg and 57% on 15mg lost at least 20% of their body weight.2 These are trial averages; individual results vary, and trial averages do not predict your own result.
To make a percentage concrete: for someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg. That is simple arithmetic on a trial average, not a promise of what will happen to you. Your own result will depend on dose, tolerance, diet, activity and many other factors.
The first weeks look different for different people. Some notice appetite change and early loss in week one, others feel little until a higher dose, and both are normal. Early loss includes water weight, so the trend over weeks matters more than any single weigh-in. Mild nausea, altered appetite and tiredness in the first days after each injection are the commonest early effects and usually settle.
Treatment response is reviewed by your prescriber. If you have lost less than 5% of your starting weight after 6 months on the highest dose you can tolerate, your prescriber will discuss whether continuing or stopping is right for you.
Compare this with the way a local clinic describes outcomes. Ask them how soon changes are expected, how they measure them, and how they will tell you whether the treatment has worked. Any practitioner should be able to describe this plainly, and should not promise specific results. For those who like to follow their own progress, the free GLPTrackr companion app is available for iOS and Android to log a GLP-1 journey.
One further point on expectations. Mounjaro is not a quick fix, and it is not a spot treatment. If you want change in a single area within a few weeks, it is not the right tool. If you want a steady reduction in overall weight with medical support, it is designed for exactly that, provided you meet the criteria.
08 · Planning the cost over a year
Planning the cost over a year
A weekly medicine is paid for month by month, so it helps to see the whole picture before you start. All figures here are standard prices, before discounts. A new customer's first order is £40 less, and every later order is £25 less than the standard price.
If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. The dose rises only after at least 4 weeks on each dose, depending on how you respond. Not everyone follows the whole ladder, because your prescriber decides the pace based on how you respond.
For a full year of 52 weeks and 13 pens, a first year costs £2,711.88 if you stay on 5mg after your 2.5mg starting pen, up to £3,599.88 if you step up through every dose to 15mg. For any other maintenance dose, look at the monthly price: £279.99 at 7.5mg, £290.99 at 10mg and £319.99 at 12.5mg. Those are monthly prices for one pen, not year totals.
Compare that planning with a local clinic. For a one-off treatment, you add up sessions. For Mounjaro, you add up months. The total you spend depends on how long you stay on treatment and which dose suits you, and your prescriber reviews both. Many people settle at a maintenance dose of 5mg, 10mg or 15mg, and higher is not automatically better.1
Across the UK pharmacies we track (checked 10 October 2026), the cheapest and dearest Mounjaro pens at any dose run from £143.96 to £339.00, and the gap between providers for the same dose ranges from £27 to £41.
09 · Counterfeits and safe buying
Counterfeit pens and safe buying
The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7
Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.12 Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation. Anyone offering to supply a weight-loss pen without a consultation or prescription is a red flag, however friendly or convenient they seem.
Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date that can be checked. Our Mounjaro comes direct from Eli Lilly's UK distribution through LillyDirect supply, as genuine KwikPens.
When your pen arrives, check it. A genuine UK Mounjaro pen comes from a registered pharmacy with a batch number and expiry date, arrives cold-chain packaged, and the solution inside is clear and colourless. Do not use a pen that has been frozen, looks cloudy or discoloured, has particles in it, is past its expiry, has been above 30°C, or has been out of the fridge for more than 30 days in use. If supply or packaging ever seems wrong, check the pharmacy on the GPhC register and contact the pharmacy before injecting.13
Our delivery is free, next-day and tracked with DPD in temperature-controlled, discreet packaging, with needles, a sharps bin and injection guidance included in every order.
The same caution applies to any injectable sold locally. Ask what it contains, who made it, and whether it is licensed. Ask to see the batch number. A genuine practitioner will not mind. If you ever experience a side effect from any medicine, you can report it through the Yellow Card scheme.19
Finally, be careful with names that sound clinical but are not. Stories such as the GMTV weight loss injection or place-based labels are marketing, not a guide to what is in a vial. A prescription, a named prescriber and a registered pharmacy are the things that make a supply safe.
10 · Using the pen day to day
Using the pen: dosing, injecting and storage
Mounjaro is injected under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food.1 Licensed injection sites are the stomach area (at least 5cm from the belly button), the front of the thigh, or the back of the upper arm if someone else gives the injection. Rotate the site with each dose. Each KwikPen contains four weekly doses.
The dose ladder is simple. Everyone starts on 2.5mg. After at least 4 weeks the dose increases to 5mg, and can then step up by 2.5mg at a minimum of 4-week intervals (7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg) up to a maximum of 15mg weekly, depending on how you respond and tolerate it. Your prescriber guides the pace.
There is no best time of day. Mounjaro works the same morning or evening. What matters is the same day each week, so pick a day you will remember. Many people choose a weekend morning so early side effects fall on days off.
For the injection itself, follow the pen's instructions.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can within 4 days (96 hours) of the scheduled time, then carry on with your usual day. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose entirely and take the next one on your normal day. Never take two doses within 3 days of each other. You can change your injection day if at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since your last dose.
For storage, keep pens in a fridge at 2–8°C and never freeze them. Once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge not above 30°C for up to 30 days, which is useful for short trips, after which it should be discarded. Keep the cap on to protect it from light.
You can fly with Mounjaro. Carry pens in hand luggage, because hold luggage can fall below freezing, ideally in a cool bag with the prescription label or a copy of your prescription. For hot climates use an insulated pouch, and check destination rules before you fly. Unopened pens should be kept in the fridge and keep until the expiry date printed on the box. If an unopened pen has been out of the fridge, check with the pharmacy and the patient information leaflet before using it.
11 · Questions to ask a local clinic
Questions to ask any Canvey Island clinic
If you still prefer to explore a local fat-dissolving treatment, go in with a checklist, because the price is only one part of the decision.
Start with who they are. Ask for the name and professional registration of the person carrying out the treatment, and look it up on the relevant public register. Ask whether a medical professional assesses you before treatment, and whether your health conditions and medicines are reviewed.
Then ask about the product. What is it called, what does it contain, who manufactures it, and is it licensed in the UK for this use? A clear answer is reassuring. A vague answer, or one that relies on brand names and social media, is not. If a product is unlicensed, you should know that before you pay.
Next, ask about outcomes. How many sessions are normally needed? How long before changes show? How long do they last, and what happens afterwards? Do they say results are permanent, and what evidence do they rely on? Figures here vary by practitioner, and no one can promise a specific result.
Ask about the downsides too. What side effects should you expect, how uncomfortable is the treatment, and what is the aftercare if something goes wrong? Who do you contact out of hours? A good clinic will describe risks as readily as benefits.
Finally, ask about money in full. Ask for the total expected cost in writing, including consultations, repeat sessions and any follow-up.
Be especially wary of anyone offering a prescription-only weight-loss pen without a consultation, or of any seller who suggests that a local treatment replaces proper medical advice. The sensible next steps are to check registrations, get quotes in writing and take your time. If you want to see whether you meet the criteria for a licensed medicine, you can use the free consultation, which carries no obligation, and browse our weight loss treatments for the range we offer. A nearby example of how local names can mislead is the weight loss injection Cornelius page, which shows how place and brand labels differ from what is actually in the product.
12 · Serious side effects
Serious side effects: when to get help straight away
Serious side effects are uncommon but need urgent attention. Seek immediate medical help for: severe, persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, with or without vomiting (possible pancreatitis); pain in the upper right abdomen, fever or yellowing of skin/eyes (possible gallbladder problems); or signs of a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat and difficulty breathing. If you take insulin or a sulfonylurea alongside Mounjaro, watch for low blood sugar (shakiness, sweating, confusion) — your prescriber may need to adjust those medicines.1
