A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Tirzepatide has not been withdrawn: all six Mounjaro doses are in stock with us, so this is a cost problem, not a supply problem.
  • Pharmacy prices differ a lot for the same dose, so comparing providers is often the quickest saving.
  • NHS access exists but is being phased in, so it will not help everyone straight away.
  • Avoid unregulated sellers. Cheap pens offered without a consultation or prescription are a safety risk.
In this guide

01 · Start here

First, check whether the price you pay is the best you can get

Many people who say they can no longer afford Mounjaro are paying more than they need to. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the dearest and cheapest pen for the same dose can differ by a wide margin: the gap runs from £27 to £41 depending on dose. Starting pens range from £143.96 to £179.99 (checked 11 October 2026). Boots' Mounjaro doses run from £179.00 to £339.00.

Our Mounjaro pen prices are shown live. A new customer gets £40 off their first order at any dose with code FIRST40, including people moving over from another provider at a higher dose. An automatic £25 reorder discount then applies to every future order (code DOSE25). Every later order is £25 off the standard price. The standard 2.5mg pen is £169.99 and the 5mg pen is £218.99.

The can't afford Mounjaro page covers the same ground from a different angle.

02 · Decide

Your realistic options, compared

OptionWhat it meansMain catch
Compare providersSame medicine, same dose, different price.Check the pharmacy is on the GPhC register.
Switch to WegovyA different licensed once-weekly medicine with its own dose ladder, starting at 0.25mg. First pens are priced from £99.99 (first order).Your prescriber decides when to switch and which dose to start on.
NHS routeMounjaro through the NHS, which is being phased in over several years; ask your GP.Highest-need groups first, so access will not help everyone straight away.
Planned stopAgree a stop with your prescriber and keep up diet and activity.Appetite may return as the medicine clears.

Whatever you choose, tell a prescriber first. Dose changes, switching medicines and stopping all work better with a plan than as a reaction to a bill.

03 · Lowering your dose

Can you drop to a lower dose?

Only if your prescriber judges it right for you. Your dose depends on how you respond and tolerate it. Higher is not automatically better, and your prescriber will guide the right pace.

Do not try to make a pen last longer by skipping or splitting weekly doses. Use the pen as licensed: once in use, a pen can be kept out of the fridge at a temperature not above 30°C for up to 30 days after first use, and must then be thrown away.13

If your appetite control seems weaker after changing dose, our guides on Mounjaro no longer suppressing appetite and Mounjaro no longer working explain what to check before assuming the treatment has failed.

04 · Is tirzepatide still available?

Is tirzepatide no longer available?

No. Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in Mounjaro, a licensed UK medicine for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes.1 It has not been withdrawn. All six doses are in stock with us, supplied through official LillyDirect supply from Eli Lilly's UK distribution.

If a price shot up, that was a list-price change rather than a withdrawal. Pharmacy sell prices vary because of confidential discounts, which is why comparing providers is worthwhile.

05 · NHS access

Could you get Mounjaro through the NHS?

Possibly, depending on your health and where you live. Mounjaro is available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first (initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions).46

Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment rather than waiting. If you may qualify, ask your GP. You can ask about this while still treating privately in the meantime. Access to Wegovy runs through specialist weight-management services, so ask your GP about that too.

06 · Switching or stopping safely

Switching to Wegovy, or stopping

If you move to Wegovy, your prescriber will set the switch plan; do not start it on your own. Wegovy pens run 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg once weekly, and the dose steps up after 4 weeks on each of 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg and 1.7mg, so the 2.4mg maintenance dose starts from week 17. Your prescriber decides when to switch and which dose to start on.

If you stop altogether, tirzepatide has a half-life of about five days, so after a final dose it takes roughly four to five weeks to clear the system. Nothing needs doing while it clears, and there is no way to speed it up.1 If you stop, regain is possible: in SURMOUNT-4, people who stopped tirzepatide after 36 weeks regained on average 14% of body weight over the following year, while those who continued treatment lost a further 5.5% on average. Stopping should always be planned with your prescriber, with diet and activity habits ready to carry the load.

If weight is creeping back, see losing no weight on Mounjaro for what to look at, and our weight loss clinic page for the wider support we offer.

07 · Avoiding unsafe cheap pens

Avoid unsafe shortcuts

Be wary of anyone offering Mounjaro without a consultation or prescription. Counterfeit and unlicensed injection pens have been the subject of MHRA alerts, and you cannot see what is inside one.7 A real saving comes from a registered pharmacy, not from a stranger on social media. You can check any pharmacy on the GPhC register; ours is GPhC 9012878.

Likewise, low-cost supplements sold as natural alternatives have no clinical oversight and are not equivalent to a licensed medicine. Dramatic weight-loss claims on them should be treated with caution.

08 · Spreading the cost

Ways to spread the cost with us

We accept Visa and Mastercard, Klarna and pay-monthly options, with no subscriptions and no lock-in. Repeat orders re-check suitability, so nothing ships automatically and you control when to reorder. The consultation is free, reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and the price shown is the price paid.

A new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less. See the full can't afford Mounjaro anymore guide for more on this.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.

Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
How can I get Mounjaro if I can't afford it?
Start by comparing prices between registered pharmacies, as the same dose varies across the UK pharmacies we track. Check whether you qualify for NHS weight-management services through your GP. Avoid sellers who offer pens without a consultation or prescription.
How are people affording Mounjaro?
Many people combine several steps: comparing providers, using new-customer and reorder discounts, and spreading payments with Klarna or pay-monthly options. Others use NHS services where eligible.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Mounjaro?
Wegovy (semaglutide) is another licensed once-weekly option, with first pens priced from £99.99 on a first order. Your prescriber decides when to switch and which dose to start on. Supplements marketed as alternatives are available cheaply without assessment, have no clinical oversight and are not equivalent to a licensed medicine.
How do I compare Mounjaro prices between pharmacies?
Prices change, so compare current prices. Across the UK pharmacies we track, the gap between providers for the same dose runs from £27 to £41 (checked 11 October 2026). Always confirm the pharmacy is on the GPhC register and that a prescriber reviews your consultation.
How much does Mounjaro cost at Lloyds, Asda or Morrisons pharmacy?
For reference, Boots' Mounjaro doses run from £179.00 to £339.00 per month, and across the UK pharmacies we track the full range is £143.96 to £339.00.
Who can get Mounjaro free?
Some adults can get it through the NHS. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition, and the primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first. Access is being phased in over several years, so ask your GP about eligibility.
Is tirzepatide no longer available in the UK?
No, tirzepatide is still available as Mounjaro. A list-price rise in September 2025 is the likely reason for the confusion. All six doses are in stock with us, from 2.5mg to 15mg, supplied directly through LillyDirect.
