Buy Mounjaro Shares: What You Can Actually Invest In (October 2026)

You cannot buy shares in Mounjaro itself, because it is a medicine, not a company. Mounjaro is made by Eli Lilly, so UK investors who want exposure buy shares in Eli Lilly and Company through an investment platform that offers US-listed shares. Information current as of October 2026.

A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • Mounjaro is a brand of tirzepatide; the company behind it is Eli Lilly, and that is the stock people mean.
  • Shares are bought through a broker or investment platform, not through a pharmacy. We do not give investment advice.
  • Eli Lilly sells many medicines, so owning its shares is not the same as owning a stake in Mounjaro alone.
  • Share values can fall as well as rise, and nobody can reliably forecast them.
  • If you want the medicine rather than the investment, a free consultation is the starting point.
In this guide

01 · The short answer

Can you buy shares in Mounjaro?

No. Mounjaro is the brand name for tirzepatide, a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine made by Eli Lilly.1 A medicine has no shares of its own. The company that makes it does, and Eli Lilly's shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker LLY.

That distinction matters. Eli Lilly develops and sells many products, so a share in the company is a stake in the whole business.

02 · The investing route

How UK investors buy Eli Lilly shares

UK investors buy US-listed shares through a broker or investment platform that offers overseas markets. The usual steps are the same on most platforms, though fees and features differ.

  • Choose a platform that is authorised in the UK and offers US shares, and check its charges first.
  • Open and fund an account. Many platforms convert pounds to US dollars, and the conversion may carry a fee.
  • Search for the ticker LLY and check you have the right company.
  • Choose an order type: a market order buys at the current price, while a limit order sets the price you will accept.
  • Consider where the shares are held, such as a general account or a tax-efficient wrapper, and what tax applies to you.

We are a pharmacy, not a financial adviser, so we cannot tell you whether to buy, which platform to use or how much to invest. For personal advice, speak to an authorised financial adviser. Capital is at risk, and past performance does not predict future returns.

03 · The other meaning

If you want the medicine instead

If you meant buying Mounjaro to use, you can get it from a GPhC-registered pharmacy after a free consultation reviewed by a prescriber. Our Mounjaro pen starts at £169.99 per month for the 2.5mg starter pen. A new customer's first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40, and every later order is £25 off the standard price. Prices checked 11 October 2026.

Ordering works in three steps:

  • Complete the free online consultation, with no charge and no obligation.
  • A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • We dispense and dispatch, with same-day dispatch when you order by 3pm, then free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging.

You can start your free consultation now, or read our guide to buying Mounjaro online. All six doses are in stock.

04 · Why shares are not the medicine

What Mounjaro is, and why that matters for investors

Mounjaro is licensed in the UK for weight management in adults and for type 2 diabetes. It comes as a pre-filled multi-dose KwikPen in six strengths from 2.5mg to 15mg.1 It is a prescription-only medicine, so you cannot buy it over the counter or through a share account.

In the SURMOUNT-1 trial of 2,539 adults, people taking tirzepatide alongside diet and exercise lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg, 19.5% on 10mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, against 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. These are trial averages and individual results vary.2 They say nothing certain about how a company's shares will perform.

05 · Risks of share investing

Risks to weigh before buying any shares

Share prices move for many reasons, and a successful medicine does not promise a rising share price. Markets may already have priced in good news, and competitors, regulators and wider economic conditions all play a part.

Our pages on the Mounjaro share price and share price predictions look at what such numbers can and cannot tell you.

Currency also matters. US shares are priced in dollars, so exchange-rate movements can change your return in sterling. Only invest money you could afford to lose, and consider independent advice.

06 · Eligibility and NHS access

Using the medicine: who it is licensed for

Mounjaro is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI between 27 and 30 with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease, prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. It must be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. A prescriber assesses your BMI, medical history and current medicines first.

Mounjaro is also available on the NHS, but access is being phased in over several years. NICE recommends it for adults with a BMI of at least 35 plus at least one weight-related condition. The NHS primary-care rollout began in June 2025 with the highest-need groups first, initially BMI 40+ with four or more qualifying conditions.46 Full rollout is expected to take years, which is why many people who meet the licensed criteria choose regulated private treatment.

07 · Staying safe when buying

Buying the medicine safely

The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens in the UK and has issued alerts after falsified Mounjaro pens were identified. Fake pens have caused hospitalisations, and some contained insulin rather than tirzepatide.7 Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.12

Genuine UK stock is supplied through Lilly's official distribution to licensed pharmacies, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date. Our supply comes through official LillyDirect. If you are unsure whether online sellers are legitimate, read whether you can still buy Mounjaro online.

08 · Dose and cost planning

Planning doses and cost

Everyone starts on 2.5mg once a week, which lets the body adjust rather than driving weight loss. After at least 4 weeks the dose rises to 5mg, then can step up by 2.5mg at minimum 4-week intervals to a maximum of 15mg weekly. Many people settle at 5mg, 10mg or 15mg.1

If you step up after 4 weeks on each dose, your first four pens (2.5mg to 10mg) cost £959.96 at standard prices. A new customer's first order is £40 less and every later order £25 less. A first year costs £2,711.88 if you settle at 5mg, up to £3,599.88 at 15mg. See our 5mg page for that dose, or the Mounjaro ordering hub for every strength.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
Can I buy shares in Mounjaro?
No. Mounjaro is a medicine brand, not a listed company. It is made by Eli Lilly, whose shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker LLY. UK investors can buy those shares through a broker or platform offering US markets. This is general information, not investment advice.
How do I buy shares in Mounjaro from the UK?
You buy shares in its manufacturer, Eli Lilly, through a UK-accessible platform that offers US shares. Open and fund an account, search for ticker LLY, and place a market or limit order. Check currency conversion and platform fees first, and take independent advice if unsure.
Is Lilly a good stock to buy?
We are a pharmacy, not a financial adviser, and we do not recommend shares. Whether any stock suits you depends on your goals, timescale and tolerance for loss. Capital is at risk, so speak to an authorised financial adviser for personal advice.
How much will Eli Lilly be worth in 2030?
Nobody can reliably know. Share values depend on earnings, competition, regulation, interest rates and sentiment, and forecasts are often wrong.
Does owning Eli Lilly shares mean I own part of Mounjaro?
Not directly. You would own a small stake in the whole company, which makes and sells several medicines besides Mounjaro. The company's results, not one product alone, drive its financial performance. That is why shares and the medicine itself are separate decisions.
Can I buy Mounjaro itself instead of shares?
Yes, if a prescriber decides it is suitable. Mounjaro is prescription-only, so you complete a free online consultation reviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber, and we dispense and deliver if approved. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
Where can I verify a pharmacy selling Mounjaro?
Check the pharmacy on the GPhC public register. Our registration number is 9012878. Genuine treatment always involves a prescription and a clinical consultation, and every genuine pen carries a batch number and expiry date. Avoid social media sellers, beauty salons and unverified websites.
