A quick overview

What to know
before you start.

  • On Mounjaro no food is banned; prioritise protein, vegetables, fibre and fluids.
  • Treatment is licensed alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.
  • Be wary of supplements sold as "natural GLP-1 boosters": they are not equivalents to prescribed treatment.
  • Your first 2.5mg pen costs £129.99 with code FIRST40 (standard price £169.99).
In this guide

01 · The honest answer

What can you buy for medical weight loss?

You can buy structured meal plans and ordinary groceries, but neither is a medicine. Food supports weight loss; it does not do what a licensed treatment does.

OptionWhat it isClinical oversight
Meal-replacement plansShakes, soups and bars on a structured planVaries by provider
Whole-food reduced-calorie dietProtein, vegetables, fibre, smaller portionsSelf-led or dietitian-led
Supplements sold as "natural Ozempic"Low-cost supplement, no clinical oversightNone
Mounjaro (tirzepatide)Licensed weekly injection used with diet and activityReviewed by a GPhC-registered prescriber

02 · If food alone is not enough

When a prescribed treatment makes sense

Mounjaro is licensed for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to 30 with a weight-related condition, alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more activity.1 It activates GIP and GLP-1 receptors, so most people feel fuller sooner, which supports eating less.1

In SURMOUNT-1, people lost on average 15% of body weight on 5mg and 20.9% on 15mg over 72 weeks, against 3.1% with lifestyle changes alone. Individual results vary.2 For someone starting at 100 kg, 20.9% is about 21 kg.

You can start your free consultation; a prescriber decides if it suits you. The Mounjaro pen starts at £169.99 standard, and a new customer's first order is £40 less. Every later order is £25 off the standard price. See buy Mounjaro for the full range, or compare all weight loss treatments.

03 · How ordering works

How ordering works

  • Complete a free online consultation: a short health questionnaire, no obligation.
  • A GPhC-registered prescriber reviews it. Payment is taken when you place the order; if the prescriber decides the treatment is not suitable, the order is refunded automatically in full.
  • We dispense and dispatch the same day if ordered by 3pm, with free next-day tracked delivery in temperature-controlled packaging.

04 · What to eat on treatment

What to eat on Mounjaro

No food is banned on Mounjaro, including bananas. Prioritise protein at each meal, vegetables, fibre and regular fluids. Very fatty, fried or sugary food makes many people feel worse, and large portions sit heavily because the stomach empties more slowly, so smaller, slower meals work better. The aim is a sustainable deficit, not a perfect food list.

See medical weight loss products online.

05 · Protect muscle and hydrate

Protein, exercise and fluids

Some rapid weight loss comes from lean tissue. Include a protein source at every meal and do resistance exercise two or more times a week; this matters more as the dose rises and appetite falls. Regular moderate activity such as brisk walking is part of the licence. Keep water within reach, because reduced appetite means less fluid from food. If you cannot keep fluids down, contact your clinical team — dehydration needs medical help straight away.

06 · Supplements and coffee

Supplements, coffee and "natural" alternatives

No supplement is required, but a standard daily multivitamin is a reasonable safety net while eating less. Products sold as "natural GLP-1 boosters" are not equivalents and not substitutes for prescribed treatment. Coffee and tea are fine, though strong coffee on an empty stomach can aggravate nausea, and high-calorie coffee drinks let the calorie deficit leak. "Coffee rules" on social media have no clinical basis.

07 · Buying safely

Buying safely

The MHRA has seized thousands of fake weight-loss pens, and some fakes contained insulin rather than tirzepatide, causing hospitalisations. Only buy from a pharmacy you can verify on the GPhC register, never from social media, beauty salons or unverified websites.7 Our supply is official LillyDirect stock, and every pen carries a batch number and expiry date.

How ordering works

How ordering works at EverydayMeds

Three steps, with our pharmacy team alongside you.

  1. EverydayMeds online consultation on a mobile phone

    Step 1: Online consultation — 5–10 minutes

Complete a confidential health questionnaire covering BMI, medical history and current medication. No payment is taken until you're approved.

  2. A clinician ready to review an online consultation

Step 2: Prescriber review — usually same day

A UK registered prescriber checks your suitability against the licensed criteria (BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with a weight-related condition) and contraindications, and confirms your starting dose.

  3. An EverydayMeds delivery box

    Step 3: Next-day tracked delivery

Dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy in temperature-controlled packaging with needles and a sharps bin included. Orders approved by 3pm for next-day tracked delivery.

Start your free consultation

Prescription and dispatch follow clinical approval. Confirm current delivery options when ordering.

Afterwards you're not on your own: dose-change reviews are built in before each step up, our pharmacist team is available for side-effect questions, and repeat orders re-check suitability rather than auto-shipping.

Your questions, answered

Mounjaro price UK — frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about Mounjaro prices, NHS access and ongoing treatment.

Ask our pharmacy team
What is the best food for weight loss?
No single food is best. Prioritise protein at each meal, vegetables, fibre and regular fluids, in smaller, slower portions. Treatment and diets work as a sustainable reduced-calorie pattern, not a perfect food list. A pharmacist or dietitian can tailor this to you.
What can I buy for quick weight loss?
Nothing safe promises dramatic results. Supplements are low-cost with no clinical oversight and are not equivalents to prescribed treatment. If you meet the licensing criteria, a prescriber can assess whether Mounjaro, used with diet and activity, suits you.
What is known as the "poor man's Ozempic"?
Supplements sold as "natural GLP-1 boosters" are not equivalents and are not substitutes for prescribed treatment. They are available cheaply without assessment, and dosing is not standardised. Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes — it is not a UK weight-loss medicine, and a regulated UK pharmacy will not supply Ozempic for weight loss.
How can I mimic Ozempic naturally?
You cannot replicate it with food or supplements. Protein, fibre and vegetables help you feel full, but they do not act on gut-hormone receptors as licensed GLP-1 medicines do. Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes only; it is not a UK weight-loss medicine. Ask a prescriber if a regulated treatment suits you.
What drink works like Ozempic?
No drink works like Ozempic. Water helps hydration, and coffee and tea are fine on Mounjaro, but claims about drinks acting like GLP-1 medicines have no clinical basis. Ozempic is semaglutide licensed for type 2 diabetes only; it is not a UK weight-loss medicine.
Which weight loss pill is available in the UK?
Two GLP-1 weight-loss tablets are licensed in the UK, both prescription-only: Wegovy tablets (oral semaglutide) and Foundayo (orforglipron); orlistat is also a licensed tablet. Prescription options are decided by a prescriber after assessing your BMI, history and medicines. Mounjaro is a weekly injection, not a pill. For tablets, see all weight loss treatments.
Can I buy medical weight loss food and Mounjaro together?
Yes. Mounjaro is licensed alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity. A prescriber reviews your suitability first, and no food is banned. Prioritise protein, vegetables, fibre and fluids to make treatment easier.
