• Do not take this medicine: If you have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients.
• If it is for a child under 12 years old.
• If you have severe diarrhoea after taking antibiotics.
• If you are having a flare up of an inflammatory bowel condition like ulcerative colitis.
• If you are constipated or your stomach appears swollen (particularly in children with severe dehydration).
• If you have acute dysentery, the symptoms of which may include blood in your stools and a high temperature.
• If any of these apply to you, get advice from a doctor or pharmacist without taking Imodium Instants.
• Read all product packaging and labels before use.
• Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.

1. For acute diarrhoea for persons 12 years and over: initially 2 tablets allowed to disintegrate on the tongue and then swallowed followed by one tablet after each loose bowel movement.
2. The usual dosage is 3 to 4 tablets per day.
3. Maximum 6 tablets in 24 hours.
4. Under 12 years: Not to be given.
5. Acute diarrhoea associated with IBS: Over 12 years: Initially 2 tablets allowed to disintegrate on the tongue and then swallowed.
6. The usual dose is 2 to 4 tablets per day in divided doses.
7. If required this dose can be adjusted according to response up to a maximum of 6 tablets in 24 hours.
